Thanks to a thoughtful friend, our group had a private tour of the zoo on a weekend morning. We learned about Zoo Boise's missions of conservation and education. It's not just animals in cages anymore! This modern zoo serves the animals with natural habitats and people with opportunities to learn about the world of animals. I learned a lot; got... More

This is a small, older zoo, but we spent some enjoyable time there. We thought they had some very nice big cats, so look for those. Admission price reasonable, and its located in a large park with other places your children will enjoy. Go visit!

My granddaughters, 5 and 4, had just moved to Boise so we just headed there with no expectations. We were all so pleased! One needs to look for the special little things such as the domed prairie dog area where you can see them look out at you but where you can get inside and get up close and see... More

I couldn't wait to go. It was a beautiful day, and at $10. per person to get it, I expected to spend a good portion of the day there. 1 hour and we were through the entire place. Very small. Animals looked confused and anxious. Might be great for small children who haven't ever been to a larger Zoo with... More

I stopped by the zoo for a few hours. It is a medium sized zoo, with a nice variety of animals from around the globe. There is small playground for kids. The classroom is also very nice, as it even overlooks the lion habitat. The zoo raises a lot of money fro conservation organization through the Conservation fee, which is... More

Zoo Boise is located in the heart of Boise, Idaho. It is a smaller zoo, so that you can get around easily with small children or older folks. The prices are very reasonable as well. The zoo is always doing something to improve itself and make it interesting for the guests. There is the Sloth Bear feeding each day from... More

This is our zoo. It's what we have, and all things considered, it's really pretty decent. It's very reasonably priced, and it has a nice layout that allows our family (with two young boys) to take a nice walk around and look at everything and still be out in about 2 hours. Our kids particularly enjoy the giraffe slide which... More

This is a little zoo with room to improve, but I love the conservation initiatives with which they are involved! With continued public support this zoo has a lot of potential for growth! We bought a membership and will be back!

I know I'm going to tick off The Armadillo, who says people who enjoy the Boise Zoo are gawking, completely oblivious, ignorant & clueless. Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa. We took our grandsons and really enjoyed our visit. From my perspective the zoo should educate, entertain and encourage conservation. From my perspective they did all three. Is this... More
