This was my first time to Zoo Boise. I took my children, ages one and three. They enjoyed seeing all the animals. My three year old absolutely loved the big giraffe slide- it's a definite kid stop along the way. The animals all looked healthy and happy. It wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be for... Spent a morning at this zoo. It is small, but very kid friendly. Had a petting zoo of goats which we were able to feed by placing a quarter in machine and getting pellets of food. Our grandson loved this activity. We were looking for the giraffe and when we found it, we could only see it on the other... More

Zoo Boise, is a smaller, older zoo, but they are constantly trying to do what they can to improve. One of the things I love about our zoo is how healthy the animals look... I have been to zoos where they seemed underfed, old, and depressed, and even when our leopard was old she still looked pretty healthy. There is... More

For the last 40 years I've been stopping into Zoo's in every city I've visited around the world, and that's a lot of Zoos. In that continuum Zoo Boise ranks "OK", It's good that Boise has a Zoo, but there isn't anything particularly remarkable about it, and it's a bit poorly laid out. The highlights are the animals, of course.Red... More

If you get a chance, definitely go to the zoo in Boise. It's always fun to take the kiddos to explore and see some animals.

Thanks to a thoughtful friend, our group had a private tour of the zoo on a weekend morning. We learned about Zoo Boise's missions of conservation and education. It's not just animals in cages anymore! This modern zoo serves the animals with natural habitats and people with opportunities to learn about the world of animals. I learned a lot; got... More

This is a small, older zoo, but we spent some enjoyable time there. We thought they had some very nice big cats, so look for those. Admission price reasonable, and its located in a large park with other places your children will enjoy. Go visit!

My granddaughters, 5 and 4, had just moved to Boise so we just headed there with no expectations. We were all so pleased! One needs to look for the special little things such as the domed prairie dog area where you can see them look out at you but where you can get inside and get up close and see... More

I couldn't wait to go. It was a beautiful day, and at $10. per person to get it, I expected to spend a good portion of the day there. 1 hour and we were through the entire place. Very small. Animals looked confused and anxious. Might be great for small children who haven't ever been to a larger Zoo with... More

I stopped by the zoo for a few hours. It is a medium sized zoo, with a nice variety of animals from around the globe. There is small playground for kids. The classroom is also very nice, as it even overlooks the lion habitat. The zoo raises a lot of money fro conservation organization through the Conservation fee, which is... More
