We love visiting the Capitol. It's FREE!!!! And a beautiful building that is fun to stroll around. We love the views from the top floor, the craftsmanship, the stairs, the elevator, the informational boards, the friendly employees, the bell out front we can ring, the nice lawn, the landscaping. It is one of our favorite low cost adventures in boise.... More

We were pleasanty surprised by Boise overall. My 18 year old son and I were visiting Boise for a Niece's wedding on Friday August 8 and got into town very early on August 7 and did some sightseeing before the wedding. Overall it was a great day outside in Boise. We stayed at the Grove Hotel, a short walk to... More

Lots of marble! Lots of history. Did I mention the marble?! It's a big, old building that has been refurbished. They did a nice job but I don't think your missing anything if you don't get to see it.

Did the self-guiding tour. Great building - newly restored. Watch a video about the restoration. Most rooms are open. The governor's office was open but he was not in. Gift shop on premises sells Mr. Potato Head and chocolate candy bars in the shape of potatoes...lol

The building looks ok on the outside; but go inside and there is real beauty with the marble and architectural design features. There is a very short history of Idaho and photos of politicans, judges and other older white men. The bathrooms are open to the public.

Gotta go inside. The rotunda is a surprise . . Great stone craftsmanship. 4 Levels. The public balcony of the house and senate chambers are open to the public. No signs, but the doors are open. . .its a good experience to sit in this space by yourself. Craftsmanship of the interior is a must see . . Extremely well... More

The view whether it is day or night is cool. But at night, how it is lit is better while walking around downtown.

We took the self guided tour through 5 floors of the Capitol. It is very majestic and informative. We watched a video about the capitol and visited the gift shop. The man at the gift shop was very friendly and interested in where everyone came from. It was a nice 90 minute tour.

I loved the architecture of this place. The outside is beautiful, and one of the most memorable places I saw while visiting Boise. Only viewed from outside.
