Spent the evening of May 17 2013 here, a really great experience, 3D in a different way! The Chronos Space Simulator star projector showed us the starry sky above us, and how it would look at different times of the year

Young Harris College, nestled in the Enchanted Valley of North Georgia, has numerous entertainment options open to the public - to include the programs offered throughout the year at the Rollins Planetarium. Their programs are both educational and entertaining and will delight visitors of all ages. Special shows are provided at Christmas and when extraordinary celestial events are happening. The... We went with friends who had out-of-town guests on a very rainy Friday evening. Parking can be a problem if you've never been to the college before as there is a lot of construction taking place across the street from the planetarium. . There is adequate parking behind the planetarium and you can enter through the side entrance. For $3... More

This should not be confused with a big time planetarium like the Adler in Chicago, but if you get a chance to catch an exhibit or show here do not miss it. The seating is very comfortable and the people in charge really know their stuff. The hands-on show for the transit of Venus across the face of the sun... More

This was something different and fun to experience and it was on the campus at the Young Harris College. We would like to go back in the "usual season" to see more but overall it was a neat viewing. You can also view the stars in a powerful microscope afterwards but we had a hard time finding it. I will... More

if you want to have a cosmic experience, visit the planetarium. the experience is surreal and gives you that kind of funky out of body experience. If you are prone to motion sickness, wait to eat afterwards. Brothers restaurant stays open late and is a short drive away,

The Rollins Planetarium, at Young Harris College, is a great inexpensive family outing. They have commercially-prepared planetarium shows most Friday nights (check website for details) followed by star-gazing at their nearby observatory, weather-permitting. They now charge admission ($3 adult, $2 child), and the shows are very popular, so get there early! No advance ticket sales - first come, first served.... More

My name is Ron and over the holidays my family visited the planetarium at the college at Young Harris. The put on a wonderful display of lights showcasing the constellations. It is free to the public as well. Donations are accepted. There is also a large telescope which is made available, weather permitting. It is definitely something fun to do... More
