All sites are neat and clean. New rest room facilities in both campground areas. Rangers are very helpful, and try and make sure your stay is very pleasant.

Great for family, includes swimming and fishing! There are also canoe, kayak and paddle boat rentals. Check their website for more information on activities.

This park is great place for family! We love the beach in the summer and my husband thinks the disc golf course is the best around! The hiking and bike trails are great for beginners or more advanced biker/hikers.

State Park located in a woodsy setting around a lake. Good facilities with beach, playground, bike trails, kayak rental, disc golf and putt putt golf. Great camping area with tent spaces, etc and private yurts(a tent like cabin). Highly recommended.

Great cottages! Beautiful hiking and tons of geocaching :-) Can't wait to visit again! Looking forward to getting on the lake, when there's some warmer weather.

We spent two days in one of the yurts at Ft. Yargo State Park in Winder. We usually tent-camp, and going back to a tent will be hard after our time in a yurt. We've camped at Ft. Yargo several times, but this was our first time in a yurt. We reserved yurt #2, which has a great location and... More

Hard to find water in the metro Atlanta area but this park is a good option. It's located in Winder and there is a nice lake for adults and kids. Nice trails to walk/bike and it is a nice break from the Atlanta city-life. We've enjoyed ourselves every time that we have visited the park. they also have a outdoor... More

We camped over the weekend on compground 1, the sights were very nice (most of them), it would've been nice to be able to reserve ahead and choose which one we wanted but this park is first come first serve. The bath house/bathroom was ok, the water pressure was weak and it was mostly clean, the bathrooms were ok. We... More

Camp hosts were friendly. Campsite was right on the lake. Husband brought small boat for fishing. Kids came over for a cookout one evening. Bath house was decent. For camping this is a good place whether your in a motor home or tent. They also have yerts that you can rent to Tay in. We actually stayed here in the... More

Fort Yargo is about an hour drive from the Atlanta airport area. Once we arrived we went to the Visitors Center and talked with the staff about trail heads, maps and animals we may see as we are hiking. I went to Fort Yargo State Park with my Team Train Faithfully friends. As always we started with a group photo... More
