Fort Yargo is about two miles from my home. It is a great place for family gatherings whether it is for the day, the weekend, or the week. There are "small" boat rentals, camping areas for motor homes and tents. Fishing, hiking, and many activities within the park. Just minutes outside the park are many restaurants to choose from. Park... More

This was a fantastic experience for you. We checked in around 5 PM on Friday evening at the Visitor center - we purchased firewood as well - then we drove down to the campgrounds to pick a site - the place is packed - we had to go around in circles for a bit to pick a site (its first... More

There are a lot of walking trails, and pavilions. A better map of the park would be nice for those who have not visited before. The trails are easy to follow though.

Fort Yargo is a very friendly State Park. We enjoyed a two night weekend there in our camper. There are plenty of areas to walk and run and play. Playgrounds for the kiddos, grilling areas, fire rings at each campsite. They have yurts too! A nice lake with a beach and swimming area, although the swimming beach gets quite over... More

Fort Yargo has some brand new camper cabins located between the Loop A and Loop B campground. They are nice with great screened-in back porches and nice lake views. They have no linens or cookware but linens can be rented for an upcharge. The price is slightly too high considering the cabins are bare and you have to pack in... More

My husband and I took our 2 dogs to this park a few times to walk the trails. This park is very well maintained. My husband has gone mountain biking a few times here and he loves it. We took my dad to this park to play the disc golf course and he loved it so much they went again... More

My family of 5 decided to take a last minute trip to Fort Yargo State Park. After nothing but gloomy weather, the upcoming weekend forecast looked great, so we decided to see if there were any yurts available. Luckily, we were able to book Yurt #1 and our friends were able to book Yurt #5, which is directly across the... More

I have been to Fort Yargo on a few occasions and I can say that the sections that I was located was very quiet and very peaceful. I love the water view and just enjoyed the quiet evening.
