Came for a picnic, fishing and pedal boats. Wished I could find more information online so I posted some pictures of the rental rates they had listed. Beautiful state park for families to spend time together and get back to nature.

This is a great place to fish or hike! I just wish they had swings for babies! But overall a great place!

The Fort Yargo Camper Cabins opened in February 2015. They are located on the southeast area of the lake, near the dam. There are 13 cabins, some are pet friendly (additional fee), some are handicap accessible and some have a lake view (lake view cabins are #4 thru #13). I think these cabins are targeting people who want to experience... More

Visited for a graduation. Beautiful park, nice amenities and would love to visit again. Extremely clean, very scenic views.

Our family decided to go canoeing and Fort Yargo was close by. Not thinking that Memorial Day would be too crowded, we headed out. We underestimated the popularity of this pretty park. They anticipated the crowds and had extremely adequately prepared for the masses. All the park personnel were friendly and helpful. Fortunately we arrived fairly early in the morning.... More

Fort Yargo is about two miles from my home. It is a great place for family gatherings whether it is for the day, the weekend, or the week. There are "small" boat rentals, camping areas for motor homes and tents. Fishing, hiking, and many activities within the park. Just minutes outside the park are many restaurants to choose from. Park... More

This was a fantastic experience for you. We checked in around 5 PM on Friday evening at the Visitor center - we purchased firewood as well - then we drove down to the campgrounds to pick a site - the place is packed - we had to go around in circles for a bit to pick a site (its first... More

There are a lot of walking trails, and pavilions. A better map of the park would be nice for those who have not visited before. The trails are easy to follow though.

Fort Yargo is a very friendly State Park. We enjoyed a two night weekend there in our camper. There are plenty of areas to walk and run and play. Playgrounds for the kiddos, grilling areas, fire rings at each campsite. They have yurts too! A nice lake with a beach and swimming area, although the swimming beach gets quite over... More

Fort Yargo has some brand new camper cabins located between the Loop A and Loop B campground. They are nice with great screened-in back porches and nice lake views. They have no linens or cookware but linens can be rented for an upcharge. The price is slightly too high considering the cabins are bare and you have to pack in... More
