Went to fort Argo twice in October for a dog hike. The 7 mile trail is a great workout and is always in good shape. There are always campers there so must be good for camping also. If you like to hike this challenging scenic hike is for you.

We recently camped out at Fort Yargo over the weekend in one of their walk in campsites. The campsites on the lake were fairly full, so we decided to pick one of the walk in campsites that was a little quieter, but still within walking distance of the facilities. We had a wonderful time. We hiked almost the full 7... More

It's a very nice place it was definitely worth the half an hour drive! Big lake, lots of different places for picnic and camping! Just a 5 dollar parking is nothing compared to the beauty! It also had playgrounds and miniature golf and a lot to explore

We mostly kayak here. The lake is large and quiet. Off limits when being used by UGA crew. No problem. Has nice cabins, beach, and outstanding mountain bike trail.

Visited in October and really enjoyed our camping trip. Park is very well maintained and the trails are really nice. Even though the park was pretty full on our stay we still had plenty of privacy at our camp site. The bathroom facilities are wonderful!! Great heat and the showers had wonderfully hot water!! Great spot if you like the... More

This park is near our home and we visit often. They have a variety of options to stay on site. The campsites are well kept and have all the amenities. The bath houses were kept clean and well stocked. The beach area is large and great for swimming. You can have electric motor boats on the lake. There are several... More

Lots of flat land, small lake, extreme bike trails, campgrounds good, bathrooms satisfactory. Rangers very friendly but park located near heart of downtown Winder. You do not feel you have really gotten away from it all. But you are close to many conveniences unlike other parks. Great for just a weekend get away, testing out camper after storing for winter or... More

what a great way to spend a couple of nights-yurting at Ft. Yargo. The 6 yurts sit on a scenic peninsula and all have a back deck hanging over the water. All yurts have electricity, ceiling fans and heat if needed. We've yurted at Ft. Yargo 10 times; as a couple, with other couples and with our children and grandchildren.... More

This is only our 2nd tent camping trip as a family and it was very memorable. The trails are awesome, my friends biked a lot. We were on campground 1, camp site 2 and our tent site was not far from the lake so we could walk to the water and only 1 camp site away from the restrooms/showers. We... More
