We were there in January 2014 and not to much was going on, but we took a nice leisurely drive through the grounds. Looks great for camping and boating and a nice walk. We then drove around the lake and hiked one of the short trails down to the lakes observation area.

Kayaks, bike trails, BBQ pits and swimming all available for a small parking fee of $5. Kayaks were $8 per hour, but well worth it. Take a trip across the way under the bridge to see nature at its best.

We camped here for a few nights toward the end of spring break. The park is beautiful and well maintained, so are the hiking trails. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing that I think could be improved is the way the camping area is set up. There are 2 driveway loops with the sites located along... More

We frequent the play area at Laura Walker. It is great place to spend the afternoon with kids. The park is typically very peaceful. The lake is calm and beautiful. We love this little park.

Been hitting Ga State Parks for golf and this one is a must. Not in the best condition at the moment but with spring just around the corner it will just get better and better. Several hiking trails but they had had to do control burn so with the spring will come fresh vegetation. Clean sites, restrooms . Love all... More

Spent the weekend tent-camping at Laura S. Walker State park and it was lovely. Because of the cold this weekend, I actually wanted a spot right near the bathroom and got one. (The spot was perfect because it was also near a playground and under some lovely trees, with a view of the lake.) The comfort stations were heated, with... More

Camping here is really expensive, $30 a night for a tent (the same for an RV I think, so that probably isn't so bad). Maybe this would be worth it if the sites were nice, but they are basically in the middle of a field with no privacy. The rest of the park seems to be a 1950's era boyscout... More

We came by here on our way back to Atlanta from St. Simons Island. It is one of the stops on the state park geo-tour. The trail was pleasant and peaceful. There was an inmate crew cleaning up the park, which a ranger warned us about, but we weren't worried. Our little one enjoyed running around near the visitor's center.... More

This is where you really see the swamp. We booked a sunset trip with okefenokee adventures. This is a must do. They have 45 min tours or the four hr. Tour we we took. Gators and bird everywhere. The flora and fauna are gorgeous. But, the black water, with its reflection, you can't. Tell where earth stops and heaven begins,... More
