We went to Pine Mountain to see the fall foliage and rode through FDR State Park. Very nice colors and beautiful views. If you like hiking this is a really nice place to hike and enjoy the fall leaves. This week they should be peaking.

We enjoyed stopping at several look-out spots to enjoy the view of the valleys below. My favorite spot was the barbeque pit where FDR frequented and sitting next to his bronze statue on the park bench.

Okay so this is a state park first and foremost. It features indescribable beauty in the fall with plenty of birds-eye views, that shows just how awesome God's paintbrush can be! The park itself has plenty of hiking trails and camping along those trails. The highlight of the park though is the site known as Dowdell's Knob. This area was... More

At Dowdell's Knob you can sit next to FDR on his car seat (in bronze) and take in the view at one of this great man's favorite spots.

We visited the park because we were staying in Warm Springs for the weekend. Next time the trip will be to stay at the park. We used several of the facilities on our way around, rode horses from the Roosevelt Stables, and enjoyed the wonderful view of the valley from Dowell 's Knot. This is a wonderful and everybody we... This park is a testament to Roosevelt's love of natural beauty. The road through the park goes by several scenic overlooks and Dowdell's Knob is a beautiful place to view the valley from.

What a great historical site! I really, really enjoyed this attraction. It's not a lot of walking but a smig but so enjoyable. Loved seeing the house and secret service shed, staff quarters, etc. I bought the movie DVD, Warm Springs with Cynthia Nixon, it was very good. The book store was excellent. The little town was very, very nice.... More

Nice, clean park with some awesome trails. Enjoyed the hike and stayed right inside of FDR in a cabin built 80 years ago. Lots of history and the views are terrific. Visit your local Georgia library to get a parking pass, good for 7 days.
