If you drive between Warm Springs and Callaway Gardens you can take the road thru FDR State Park. It is a nice drive and has beautiful views of the area.

We made it a family tradition to visit the park each year the first week of November. It is really beautiful there. We always stopped at Dowdell's knob, one of FDR's favorite places and set up the tripod and take family photos with the valley behind us. The view is spectacular. It's really peaceful and we have seen a lot... More

We went to Pine Mountain to see the fall foliage and rode through FDR State Park. Very nice colors and beautiful views. If you like hiking this is a really nice place to hike and enjoy the fall leaves. This week they should be peaking.

We enjoyed stopping at several look-out spots to enjoy the view of the valleys below. My favorite spot was the barbeque pit where FDR frequented and sitting next to his bronze statue on the park bench.

Waterfalls, views, well-maintained state park with 25+ miles of hiking trails. Pick up a trail map at the State Lodging facility and plan your route. Overnight campsites and lodging available for longer stays. Be sure to take your camera along for some beautiful views! Enjoy!!

Okay so this is a state park first and foremost. It features indescribable beauty in the fall with plenty of birds-eye views, that shows just how awesome God's paintbrush can be! The park itself has plenty of hiking trails and camping along those trails. The highlight of the park though is the site known as Dowdell's Knob. This area was... More

At Dowdell's Knob you can sit next to FDR on his car seat (in bronze) and take in the view at one of this great man's favorite spots.

We visited the park because we were staying in Warm Springs for the weekend. Next time the trip will be to stay at the park. We used several of the facilities on our way around, rode horses from the Roosevelt Stables, and enjoyed the wonderful view of the valley from Dowell 's Knot. This is a wonderful and everybody we...
