Our timeshare is right on the beach, so we visited it every day. We relaxed on the sand and walked the beach, wading out to about thigh-high. The water of the Atlantic washes over a mud base, so if we were looking for shells, the water was often too murky to see the bottom. The sea shelf slopes so gently... More

Have been going to Tybee beech for years and the joy that I see in my mothers face when she can still get into the water, ( at 81), maked my day at the beach. Just a great time and a super beach.

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of the Atlantic with dark sand and even darker/murky ocean water. I enjoyed Tybee beach for all of the other things. The sand is soft, breeze plentiful, waves big n powerful, and the beach peaceful. I wouldnt swim in it but I enjoyed it nonetheless for all the above reasons.

Loved the bigger waves but didn't like the temp.drop. husband loves his castles and feeding birds every morning.

We took a family trip to Savannah and spent several days in Tybee to go to the beach and sight-see. Only 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. It was not extremely crowded and the kids (2 & 5) had a great experience for their first time seeing the Atlantic. The town is great too. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean, watching... More

I went to Tybee in early December 2013. I was in Savannah for some shopping/sight seeing and decided to drive out around the island seeing as it was a really warm day. It was cool and breezy and not many other people were there. They appeared to be mostly locals out for an afternoon walk. It was a stark contrast... More

While staying in Savannah, we decided to visit Tybee Island one afternoon. The thing we first noticed was that the sand was so fine that it was like powder. The beach was typical of most beaches we have visited. The day we were there it wasn't very crowded and very enjoyable. There are also restaurants and beach wear/souvenir shops close... More

Kaos hit Tybee recently - this place is serenity at it's finest, we kinda stuck out...not the calmest group but Tybee well here you go - calm waters, good people & decent eats around as well - you can fish anywhere, some rip currents by main port so be careful - surfing is fun, small but fun as it goes...
