This was the highlight of our Tybee vacation. Rene took us deep into the salt marshes where we saw a large variety of seabirds and lots of dolphins! I had never been so close to dolphins in my life, and we must have seen more than twenty during our 3 hour trip. Rene is extremely knowledgable about all of the... More

Captain Rene is the most knowledgeable charter and tour captain that I know of on the coast of Georgia. She has a wide breadth of knowledge of the wildlife of the shores and sea of this area and shares it in a way that both young and old can appreciate. Her love for the environment of the coast is very... More

During our week on Tybee, we took two tours with Sundial. We did the Little Tybee Unplugged and the Fossil Hunt trips. Both trips were excellent. Captain Dave, Captain Rene, and Karl were all very nice and made our trips very memorable. Little Tybee had excellent shelling and birding opportunities. We saw dolphins on the way out and Captain Dave... More

We went for a two hour trip to Little Tybee with Captain Rene Heidt, and are so glad we did! She is fun, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the waterways, the ecosystem and the wildlife. We took a marvelous boat tour of the creeks flowing through Little Tybee at high tide, just before sunset, including a stop to wade and... More

Had a great charter trip to Little Tybee with Capt Dave and Carl. We learned so much about the coastal ecological systems and had lots of fun at the same time. We walked the beaches of Little Tybee, shelled, and saw several dolphins up close. I'd highly recommend this tour. More

We had a wonderful excursion today! Captains David, Renee and Carl were awesome tour guides and shared some very interesting facts about Tybee and Little Tybee Island. We had great weather, saw quite a few birds and a pair of dolphins that seemed to follow the boat on our way back in. The kids and adults also enjoyed searching for... More

It was a pleasant enough experience; it did not meet the expectations given to us by the owner when we talked with her on the phone the day before our tour. She talked about lots of dolphins and seeing dolphins mudding, lot of birds, etc. as if it were an everyday occurrence. There were not many dolphins and few birds.... More

We try to be more than nice enough! I like people to forget themselves on our trips and have a memorable experiecnce. We are so sorry that you did not spot as many dolphin or birds as you would have liked. The mild winter has caused a large number of dolphins to stay inshore, and perhaps I was overly enthusiastic about... More

Our trip was very relaxing through the salt marsh and on the beach of Little Tybee. Living here, I love and appreciate our surroundings but the opportunity to learn details from our knowledgeable and passionate guide (Rene) was such an added bonus. I am excited to explore further and to increase my knowledge of our surroundings. My family will return... More

This was really a great trip! The area is beautiful and Capt. Rene Heidt really knows the area and wildlife well. We saw many birds including a bald eagle on his(her?) nest. Just spectacular! We then saw pods of dolphins with young swimming and jumping. The small boat was perfect for what was really a private tour. The captain and... More

We booked a custom tour with Sundial because we wanted to take our three dogs out for a boat ride. Being very pet friendly, they took us out to a sand bar where the dogs could swim and run freely. It's so disappointing that there is no dog beach on Tybee Island, but this trip made up for it. The... More
