We were fortunate to have a very calm winter's day for our trip but a very cold one. The clothing provided is very good but you will need plenty of your own layers in addition for a winter safari trip. We set off from Sortland and travelled to the very tip of Andoya without seeing the killer whales that normally... More

Sorry to interrupt this flow of positive reviews with a less enthusiastic one... This isn't so much about Artic Whale Tours which we found to be very professional. Their museum is basic but informative, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The staff on the boat were also very friendly and helpful. We eventually observed three sperm whales and got nice... We had a wonderful day with Arctic Whale Tours! It was truly unforgettable experience. Tips: You should take the seasickness pill which is provided by that tour company, as it really helps! You should also wear all your warm clothes as it is really windy and cold during the tour. Don't forget your camera :-)

Luckely I hate to go where everyone else goes (Andenes). So after a little search I found artic whale tours. Great guidance from a professional photographer and a (norwegian) marine biologist. Great tips and explenations! Well worth of money...! can't say otherwise..As we arrived in the whale area the boats of Andenes joined us and left very quickly while we... More

Book a trip with Arctic Whale tours from Sto. They look after you very well and make sure you have the best chance of seeing whales, we managed sperm whale and orca - fabulous. The bird life as well is pointed out by the knowledgable, friendly guides. Lunch included on the boat. Take the offered sea-sickness pill, you will need... More

Great guides, great scenery, great arrangements and, of course, great whales! These folks are THE ones to go whale watching with. We saw pilot and sperm whales. The guides knowledge and customer care are second to none. Lovely ship (they have a new faster ship now, not the Leonora) and the lunch on board was lovely. The presentation before setting... More

I spent five days in Sto with a small group (booked via Explore) which included a day at sea looking for whales with the good people from the Arctic Whale safari. We saw Orcas and Sperm whales, not to mention puffins, guillemots, sea eagles, cormorants, shags, fulmars, kitty wakes and seals. The whole experience was truly unforgettable and I would... More

Fantastic whale tour on the Lofoten. We were able to see 2 Spermwhales. On the way back we saw an incredible number of Pilotwhales. They travelled together in a big group of about 30 animals. Within the Pilotwhales there were White Sided Dolphins jumping around. As additional sight we visited the Bird Island near Sto. The fantastic landscape of the... More

Spent two whole days on their boat Leonora which is a converted fishing boat. We had a good presentation prior to the boat trip to teach us about whales. We were so lucky to have clear blue skies & a flat sea with perfect visibility. Our whale spotters were brilliant & we saw 8 sperm whales close up on the... More

Don`t forget camera, binoculars and clothes for unfriendly weather. Take your pills to become not see-sick, except you are familiar with those ship movements on sea

Thank you for the positive review! Good to hear that you enjoyed the tour to watch whales with us. As our whale watching tours go to the open sea, it is indeed a very good tip to take the pill against seasickness if you have not been at the sea before. This is and always will be included in the...
