The silver comet is tax money spent at its best. I have been walking my dog there daily for 10 years. The dedicated walkers, runners are the same everyday and great friends have been made. Sometimes have to watch for the cyclists, some feel they own the road.....but it's the best

Me and some friends visited the trail recently and rented some bikes. This trail goes for miles and miles. It was a really great and fun way to spend some times with some friends.

In August we rode the trail from Piedmont to Cedartown and back then 2 weeks later rode from Cedartown to Coots Lake so we now have ridden most the entire Chief Ladiga-Silver Comet trail. The entire trail is suitable for any type bike, road, mountain, comfort, recumbent, and even the elliptical bikes I have seen. The trail is very easy... More

Ran 12 miles on the Silver Comet Trail, starting in Smyrna, in August 2014. I run long distance on all personal and business trips all over the US, and the Silver Comet Trail is probably the best trail I've ever run. Over the 12 miles, I saw exactly one piece of trash, and I'm pretty sure it had been dropped... More

Fantastic dedicated cycle route route, free from traffic, other than other cyclists and walkers. Fantastic scenery (between Dallas and Rockmart) and a virtually flat route. Hired bikes from Cycology in Hiram. Brilliant service from them. They opened an hour early especially for us, hired us bikes and a rack which they fitted to our car for us. The staff were... More

Three of us rode roundtrip from Piedmont, Alabama to Rockmart, Georgia on the Chief Ladiga (Alabama) / Silver Comet (Georgia) trail. Overall the trail is in very good condition. The asphalt (Alabama) and concrete (Georgia) pavement is about 6 ft to 8 ft wide, smooth with only rare bumps or misaligned joints, and mostly flat. The Alabama section has more... More

I rode this trail a few weeks ago an it was great. I rode from Paulding going west for @ 12 miles. This section was exactly what I like, mainly flat and really scenic. But when I say scenic, I don't mean water. Mainly just tree lined. Still I loved it. More water or ponds or creeks would have been... More

It's gets a little congested at the start of the trail. But just wait. We ride to Rockmart which was 40 miles away. There is an old tunnel about 34 miles in and some of the views off the bridges are just amazing. It's makes you think what it was like if you was a passenger on the train.

I recently started taking my grand children for bike rides on the Silver Comet Trail. Started doing 7 miles, then 10, and so forth. There are many great things about the trail. For one you can jump on the trail anywhere along the way. We have gotten on near Thornton Road, Hiram and Dallas for day trips. Bear in mind,... More

The Silver Comet trail is a great way to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. I ride this trail about 4 times a month. If you don't ride you can still walk or run the trail. It has a lot of beautiful sites along the trail as well as historical sites. A great way to get the family out and... More
