Amazing Museum!

What a hidden gem! Found this museum while driving up to Windermere. Great cars to look at. Bigger than expected from the outside.

I live locally and have often driven past this museum and finally decided to give it a go. I must say that my daughter and I were very impressed. The exhibits are very varied and are have been immaculately restored. The display is very imaginative and very detailed. This is very much a "look don't touch" museum and there is... More

Visited the museum recently and found it to have some very interesting cars and memorabilia amongst the exhibits, along with a few areas of local history. The new location for the museum is much better than the previous one and has more space which allows a much better lay out. Certainly worth a visit.

We stumbled across this museum and were greatly impressed with the amount and quality of displays. There is a great variety on display from early 1900s motorbikes and cars to more recent cars such as a Sierra cosworth and a Delorean. Each display has great information yet is not overwhelming. The entry fee was also very reasonable! I highly reccomend... More

I like the cafe which being by the river is scenic and offers good food, staff and environment. The cafe hasnt succumbed to the lakes rip- off regime with a good meal for less than a tenner each especially the scones or sunday lunch(i will be sampling one this weekend) The motor museum at £8 each is a bit expensive but what... I had visited this attraction when it was based at Holker Hall many times when I was younger. When in the area I attended a classic car club meeting at the Museum, this included discounted entry to the Museum (£4, rather than £8 - single adult ticket). The museum itself is very well laid out with lots of information about... More

Went with family including disabled pensioner and late teenagers. Had a really good 3 hours. Loads of exhibits and not too much reading. Teenagers gave in after a couple of hours but the cafe next door is equally good and provided a place for them to chill. The sort of place to go back to every 3-4 years. The party... More

Was better than expected - just called as passing and impressed with how much to see. Especially liked the bluebird exhibition - so interesting and great to see the actual vehicles - an interesting story.
