Loads of stuff for enthusiasts here, laid out in a charming, almost haphazard way. The exhibit about Donald and Malcolm Campbell was very good and very informative. The restaurant was excellent, the food was very good and the views over the valley - where you could watch the Haverthwaite and Lakeside steam loco going back and forth were pretty good... More

They had all kinds! The place was stuffed to the rafters, it was a large blue building from the outside which I had little hope for but boy what a little gem!

Eventually got to the car musuem after numerous trips to the lake district. It was well worth the wait. EXcellent display of cars and motorbikes. Great exhibition about Donald & Malcolm Campbell and there obsession about speed records. There is also a tribute to the Isle Of Man TT as well. ps DON'T FORGET THE CAFE !!!

This site is worth a visit to bring back memories for the slightly older population as many of the cars present date from the past 30-40 years. However, we were sorry to miss not seeing the Bluebird as advertised. No information about its whereabouts.

Thank you for your five star rating- we're delighted you enjoyed and thought the visit was worth it! However we are puzzled as to how you missed the Bluebird exhibition when we explain the way around the Museum, including how to find the building when you purchase your ticket. There’s a sign to remind visitors on exit door as you... More

Have to say we had an enjoyable time here with our four children but as much as it was good it felt pricey for what it was. They have a lovely collection of cars, bikes etc but it was disappointing that some of them we less than well presented. There is one car in fact that's ripped leather has simply... More

We're so pleased to read that both you and your four children enjoyed your recent visit. Unfortunately alot of our exhibits are quite rare and expensive, so in order to preserve and retain their current condition, we cannot allow access to them. There are the old time arcade games upstairs however that children of all ages are welcome to play... More

Visited the Museum with my husband, We bought a combined Museum & Steam Train Ticket,. For only £13.00 per person which was excellent value for money, Very well looked after & displayed. Excellent information on all vehicles and brilliant old fashioned games which you can have a go on.

This place holds a collection of vintage and historical automobiles, motorbikes, bikes, models etc, including a De Lorean of 'Back to the Future' fame, a magnificent TVR and other rare models. The vintage motorbikes such as the Norton offer additional interesting points.
