Visited the museum not knowing what to expect as a rainy day activity. It's a lovely museum for adults. There was very little interactive displays for children. The free parking and entry for under 5's was a bonus but I would say I thought £8 per adult was a little excessive. There was a large variety of different exhibitions the... More

Visited this museum not knowing what to expect. A modern building packed with old cars.old motor bikes.pedal cycles.and so many more good things. Could have spent All day there. The Malcolm Campbell exhibition was also excellent with the real bluebirds both land and water on display. What I particularly enjoyed was all the information displayed both on plaques and videos... We decided to kill a few hours driving around the Lakes and found this Motor Museum. From the outside it looks pretty small, but inside it's quite surprisingly big. There's free parking and if you can prove you're part of a Bike or Car Club, you get 10% off admission, which as standard is £8 Adult, £5 5-10years, free for... More

Many thanks for your review of our museum. We are, as you say, very proud of our collection and do want to provide the opportunity for the visitor to experience as much as we can offer. Some of the vehicles are on loan to us as well and we're given strict instructions on how the owners wish them to be... More

My husband is a classic car enthusiast. Therefore we thought this was a must see (for him). The free parking was a welcome change and the free entry for under 5s is definitely appealing. I would suggest some interactive sections with some cars suitable for little ones as it was difficult walking around with so much temptation for them! In... More

Thank you for taking to time to review our museum. I cant explain why you werent offered a childrens quiz on entry as it is our policy to offer it to visitors with little ones. There are signs on the counter offering them as well. It does help to direct the little ones attention towards the exhibits and something to... More

Quite a good motor museum, if a little pricey to get in. We have been before and since then they have an additional display showing the Donald Campbell exhibits. Doesnt take long to go around, which is why I think the price is too high. We visited a motor museum in Malta last year which was much better and had... More

Its £8.00 admission and discount if you are local. Just off the A590 near Newby Bridge at a place called Backbarrow the museum is packed full of motorcars and bikes for enthusiasts to view. If you like taking photos of automobiles this is the place for you There is a café and souveneers, the café having seats near a river.... More

There are plenty of exhibits to see at this museum, but unfortunately to owners seem to think that they need to show every car/bike they own, as because of this the exhibits are jammed together, making it hard to appreciate them all. Whilst it is nice to see as many things as possible, by removing some from display I think... More
