Sapelo Island is BEAUTIFUL. If you have a chance to visit the island... take one of the tours offered by local residents. I went to the 2015 Culture Day (in October every year). Loved the island. Ate the most amazing food. Met wonderful people. Learned a lot about the history of the island and the current state. Definitely worth checking... More

Once you are able to find parking at the dock, it's just a short boat ride over to Sapelo. The tour takes you all around- by the post office, cemetery, village, lighthouse, and of course the beach. The detail on the tour was great. You can really get a feel for what life on the island is like. The whole... More

This is the tour sold by JR - a resident of Sapelo Island. We were really excited to be taking a tour of this unique island with a local guide and were very disappointed. We arrived at the dock and found the tour only because a few others were gathered around our guide and van. No one was actively looking... More

First advice - Don't forget your insect repellent and you will have a wonderful time at a very low price for a day tour. You will enjoy Georgia and American history, tropical forest, beach, tabby ruins, research education and the Reynolds Mansion. The Mansion may be rented through the Georgia State Parks Dept for 16 - 29 people and the... More

We went on a Saturday morning on the 9:00 am to 12:30 pm tour. The fee of $15 pp is very reasonable. This includes the Ferry ride to the Island and a tour of the island in a large school type bus. It is very rural and our guide (a lady who also resides on the island) was very knowledgeable... More

Christmas time is a great opportunity to visit Sapelo Island and to experience the Reynold's Mansion there. We were treated to a great tour done through local supporters of Sapelo and given a delicious luncheon. Included was an opportunity to walk this lovely barrier island and learn more of the local culture.

It was very nice with a walking trail and a large gift shop with a porch that had rocking chairs. We were there the day after Thanksgiving so the gift shop was closed, but just looking through the windows it looked as if there was lots of goodies to take home. We also missed the ferry, it ran at 8:30... More

We were fortunate to make reservations for the extended tour which is provided on the last Tuesday of the month. This tour includes both the north and south ends of the island. The normal tour is only in the south end. The tour uses on old school bus that the driver and tour guide handles like it is a sports... More

To be honest when I called to sign up for this tour I was not quite sure what to expect. I arrived, paid and was told to go to the right and show your ticket to the park ranger at the dock. Ok cool walked out to the "ferry" got seated and waited. I saw many other folks heading towards... More

My family booked a four hour tour of the island and we had a good time. We were able to see a number of attractions on the island and had a knowledgeable tour guide. The tours and tour schedules that are setup for the island are a little strange. A visitor can't see the whole island, except on certain days,... More
