Old and beautiful in a wonderful part of the island amidst giant live oaks coverd with moss. Also a great deal of early American religious history.

Any first time visitor to St Simons must see Christ Church. It is quite a treasure. Great history, beautiful windows, peaceful and serene! The docents are very friendly and informative.

A wonderful spot to visit. The church it's self is beautiful. And you must tour the grounds and the cemetery. Read Eugene Prices's books and look for the toobs of the people she wrote about in her books. Wonderful history.

While we were walking the grounds, a church member allowed us inside the church. The stained glass is amazing. It was awe inspiring. No wonder so many people want to get married there! Gorgeous!!

Christ Church is such a beautiful, peaceful place. And its history is so interesting. The docent on the grounds was so helpful in answering any questions about the church, its congregation, and its history. The cemetery, which is practically spread out all over the church grounds is fascinating. We spent quite some time walking through and reading the epitaphs on... More

This was one of the stops on the trolley ride we took, and we learned a lot about the history of the island here, as well as the sad love-story of the original builder/owner. It is a beautiful building, and our host really brought the past to life by the detailed stories she shared with us while there. A great... More

I am not a religious person, but a visit to Christ Church was the most interesting on our time spent on St. Simons Island. The church is on the north end of the island, well away from the beaches and commercial district. It is on the way to Ft. Frederica, so you can see both on the same excursion. The... More

This place has a great story that is not told at the location. Unless you do a trolley tour you might miss the story of Christ Church. The stained glass windows are incredible. The graves are not well marked to understand the important history of this site. Suggest they provide the story of the windows and charge for it

This is an active Episcopal Church with roots dating to early island history. It sits amidst gigantic live oak trees draped with Spanish moss. As you walk through the gate, you literally feel as if you stepped back in time. Stroll through the cemetary with 200 year old gravestones and remember the early settlers whose final resting place is in... More
