Took the grandsons for a visit.. We had a chance to see fish, turtles, owls, hawks, bald eagles, snakes and mammals, all in one location! When the grandsons get older, we hope to return to participate in some of the hands on activities. All of this in a beautiful park setting. Great for current and future nature lovers.

For a cheap place to take the kids to learn about the local nature and walk on a well kept trail this is your place. Though I have not tried it, while I was there some one was setting up for a wedding to take place beside the lake. Service was surprisingly good for a government funded facility.

Love to jog for exercise? Perfect, long trails which will get your heart rate pumping and level terrain, too. Want to take it a little slower...just jog or walk. When we were there (and this area is a little out of our usual 'stomping grounds'), it was great to see a mix of older couples walking, younger folks jogging, complete... More

We went to the CNC during Thanksgiving break and had a great time! My son (6) wasn't sure about it but when we got there and he learned that he could earn points he was sold. We went on a hike through the property with the scavenger hunt list and then had a picnic lunch on the grounds. When we... More

Took a group of nine adults and children on the Owl Prowl....a nighttime Ranger-led hike alongside the river. It was a bit spooky, informative and fun!

We went on a cool autumn day. It was great weather for strolling through the center. Our 20-month old daughter enjoyed it very much, especially the birds in the aviary area and seeing the beaver in the beaver habitat.

We just had our son's Bday party here, and it was really fun. We had an excellent and knowledgeable naturalist (Larry) guide our party, and the kids had a blast.

There were three adults in our group and we all kept wishing we had brought our young kids. There is really something for everyone of all ages here. There are great hiking trails, beautiful plant life, native wildlife and activities for children. I wish we had something like this closer to home!
