This museum was a very nice surprise. It was only 20 min from Savannah's historic district. It has so much to see we didn't allow enough time. We arrived at lunch time and ate in their cafe. If you are interested in history, and I'm a big fan especially of WW2 history, then you must see the Mighty 8th museum. Whether traveling through Savannah, or here for a day, the Mighty Eighth is definitely worth the stop! Aviation has a big part to the Savannah economy, thanks to Gulfstream. Located in Pooler, only 1 exit to the north at (106) is the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport. So, if you're only in for a day and staying near the airport, this museum... more
Just $10 per person - you can easily spend a few hours here and not get bored. Very informative and well done. A great tribute to these people. Easy to find, well signposted and well located. Friendly staff. Great value for money. more
A well done history of the Eighth Air Force and well worth the time to see. Many of the volunteers are actual military veterans of service with the Eighth Air Force, so you have the opportunity to speak with living history.
