Description: Golfers seeking a real test of their abilities look forward to playing...
Golfers seeking a real test of their abilities look forward to playing 7,057 yard, par 72 Mountain View, designed by world-famous golf architect Dick Wilson. Tight, tree-lined fairways are characteristic of this true championship course. Mountain View was home to the PGA Tour's Buick Challenge for more than a dozen years. One of Mountain View's most intriguing holes is the par 5, number 6 where the threat of water looms over both tee and approach shots. This hole was ranked as the fourth most difficult par 5 on the Tour by USA Today.

The two golf courses at Callaway Gardens are totally different, but each have their own characteristics. The Lake View course was built in the late 1950's but have been updated and well-kept over the years. This is my favorite and has some beautiful scenic holes, i.e., #9 playing from an island tee with a beautiful English Provincial Clubhouse that was... More

I did not actually play. I walked with and watched my son play in a college golf tournament. The course is absolutely stunning and would be a great place to play!

Got a golf package - night in a villa and unlimited golf for my brothers-in-law (2) and me. Played all 18 holes of Mountain View and about 12 holes on Lake View. From about noon till 8PM - on a Saturday (5/9). Staff was very friendly and helpful (especially at the Champion Grill). Grill has to go turkey and ham... More

A PGA level course (home of the former Southern Open) at muni prices. Very challenging, tremendous shape. Water and creeks in play. Outstanding practice facility.

The Fantasy in lights was excellent and well worth the trip. Be sure to dress warm and have a hoody or toboggan for your ears. The ride takes an hour and time passes quickly. We finished the ride with warm hot chocolate and apple cider.

We just hosted a casual tournament at this course during a conference at The Lodge and Spa. The staff was great to work with and set us up with everything we needed.

2 GREAT courses! The Lake and Mountain Course. My hubby and son LOVED the Lake Course! Make reservations in advance. If you get a chance stay at the Callaway for other family fun!

I have played the Mountain twice. It is a very nice course. Beautiful scenery. The pro shop staff is superb! I played at twilight rates both times. Personally I think the regular rates are too expensive compared Grand National, Maple Ridge, and Bull Creek which are tracks available within 30 minutes.

Sounds like you had fun. Yes, having been the host of 12 PGA tournaments - the Mountain View course if more challenging. We are so glad to hear it. Thank you for your post and we hope you find the opportunity to play again soon. More

We golfed on a golf package that we had prepaid otherwise we would've refused to play. The course was in terrible shape because of the hard winter. No grass on the fairways so we played off of dirt. The other people in our foursome said they'd never come back which is too bad for such a beautiful area. But we... More

We are very to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. We are currently trying to cover from an extremely harsh winter, probably the worst in several decades. There are plans to build a new clubhouse. As a nonprofit organization in this tough economy, timing is very important. We strive to make visits as enjoyable as possible. Our new... More
