This is a great place to visit for a couple's getaway or for a family's summer vacation. One of my favorite places there is the horticulture center. This is really a great place to just relax, enjoy the gardens, walk or jog or bike all over the park, along the beautiful lakes and breath in fresh, clean forest laden (negative... More

Plenty to do here, particulary around Christmas time. Nature, Parade of Lights, golf, etc. etc. Come back in the summer for more outside activities.

Peaceful and beautiful. Nice bike trails though some are a bit hilly. Azaleas weren't blooming yet due to a long winter this year but the dogwood and other trees were pretty and the horticulture center and butterfly conservatory are amazing ! Friendly, helpful people work everywhere at Callaway! Don't miss having at least one meal at the Country Kitchen.

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit. Yes, we are all ready for azaleas but we greatly appreciate all of the Spring beauty amongst the other Spring-blooming plants. Your suggestion regarding The Country Kitchen is a good one. (Yummy!) We appreciate your taking the time to post and we look forward to your visit the next... More

Love the gardens ! So much to do in the spring and summer. It is much quieter this time of year. We enjoyed the Butterfly house and birds of Prey show. We biked through the gardens and during this time of year there are so few people that it's easy to get around and enjoy the peace and tranquility!

Peaceful, pretty place to stretch our legs after a long drive. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the solitude and easy walking path around the lake. We didn't like that several of the exits were blocked after we came in and it was tricky to find a way out.

I've always wanted to go and look at their Christmas lights, since I was a kid. Its definitely worth doing once!! I'd like to go back when it's Spring time when everything is in bloom. I can imagine it's beautiful.

We are so glad you were able to experience Fantasy In Lights! Yes, the "bulbs" in Spring are as magnificent as the "bulbs" and other floral shows during Spring. Pay attention to the Azalea Watch on our homepage as we'll be posting weekly updated photos as the Spring azaleas start to bloom! We do hope you are able to visit... More

I have visited a few times before and February is not the best time to visit. The butterfly house is still great. We really enjoyed the bird show. That was interestedly cool and amazing to see the birds of prey. The azaleas are not in bloom yet and it is kind of quiet. They were not charging admission at this... More

Thank you for your post. Yes, Winter in Mr. Cason's Vegetable features cool-season plants as long as the weather permits. But, Winter is a great time to appreciate the architecture of a garden while the leaves are not on the trees. It's also a great time for birding because of the same reason. Warm weather does provide for more color... More

If you thought February might not be the ideal time to visit a garden, think again. There is always something to see and February is special because weekdays are free (check web site for any changes). We visited twice and stopped at the "Birds of Prey" show once and the "Horticultural Center" the next time. The Birds of Prey presentation... More

What a great review of visiting Callaway Gardens during the Winter. There are fewer restaurant options during the week but Callaway Gardens does have some places to eat. We appreciate your support of the non-profit Callaway Gardens and look forward to your next visit. Thank you. More

If possible, do not miss the light show at Callaway between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also, if possible, rent the two bedroom cabin as you get a huge cabin with wood-burning fireplace and enough seasoned firewood for an entire evening. You can walk to the bus that takes you to the light show which saves the hassle of parking. The Birds... More
