Open to one and all, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir was inaugurated...

Open to one and all, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir was inaugurated in August of 2007 after only 17 months of construction time utilizing 1.3 Million volunteer hours. The Mandir is comprised of 3 types of stone (Turkish Limestone, Italian marble, and Indian pink sandstone). More than 34,000 individual pieces were carved by hand in India, shipped to the USA and assembled in Lilburn like a giant 3-D puzzle.

Beautiful! Worth the visit

We visited BAPS while my uncle and his family in Lilburn. The grounds are Expansive and the intricate detail of the indoor architecture is breathtaking.

Laying aside religion - it matters not what religion you are - this is a place of serenity, beauty and peace. It is not to be missed

I went this Temple in a Sunday morning. Not crowd at all. I had a baby and a toddler with me. Besides the fabulous building and garden, I love how everything has easy access. My toddler son enjoyed running around the garden.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this temple. At the entrance there is a gate where you give your name & they let you in. We went at 11 AM on a Wednesday so it wasn't crowded. Couldn't do any poojas for the same reason. The place was exceptionally clean & beautifully decorated. After our visit to Aksherdam in New... More

We are of the Christian faith but this was still an interesting place to visit. We have taken several out-of-town friends there too (one couple did not like it at all because of the beliefs). The architecture is amazing. Make sure to check their hours and allow plenty of time to visit.

This is a religious place (a Hindu temple), generally I don't review religious places. But if you would like to be in calm and peaceful places outside big city like Atlanta. You can go and visit this place regardless of your religious belief. You don't need to go to India to witness beautiful Indian architecture both outside and inside of... More

AMAZING architecture and detail. The buildings were breath taking. My kids (15, 16 & 20) and I went on the self guided audio tour ($5 at the gift shop) - taking you through the grounds and the mandir. It is free to enter the grounds and view - but we wanted to learn more about it. We were able to... More

This place will wow your socks off even before you remove them to enter the temple. Finally took my mom since she lives close to this magnificent piece of architecture. She said it felt like she had gone to India (save for the shopping centers that surround temple). Despite that, you will feel total immersion when you visit. They do... More
