This place used to be chock full of animals to interact with. Now it's fallen into a sad state with empty pens and a number of things that need repair. Not worth the stop unless it's on your route.

Do not support business for profit when they costs the animals their sanity and health. The deer are crowded into small caged areas with no grass and they have open wounds. General Beau exists in a small fenced cemented floored. It should have been closed down years ago. Shame on Yellow River Game Ranch for wanting profits over kindness.

We've taken the grandkids here twice and they've sure enjoyed the up close contact with the animals, especially feeding them carrots, peanuts, grains, etc. While not "spiffy" and odor free, the Game Ranch offers an educational experience for city kids.

Love this place. Not a big fan of zoos, but these are all animals that were injured or neglected and needed care. It is clean and the animals look well cared for. A lot of the animal are free roaming or have big enough enclosures. Wild cats and Bears are the only ones that need more room. Fun for all... More

Nothing is up kept and its all dilapidated. Every cage is to small and rotted and rusty, which all animals are kept in and many are empty. All the animals look sick and underfed which is a wonder because costumers actually feed them, so the actual caretakers must not be. The bears are kept in a dirty cement pit and... More

Loved loved feeding the deers... My family went here twice already.. My only con was they put the deers inside a wired fence now not like the first time they roam freely and they walk with you and follow you.... This was a let down :( I wonder what was the reason for the big change. My 3 year old... More

Our kids (14 & 24) loved this mini zoo, as did my husband and myself. The place was clean, the animals looked well cared for and they were very friendly. Would highly recommend to families with children.

We have visited the Yellow River Game Ranch about once a year, sometimes twice, for about 10 years. The game ranch has not aged well. Years ago the deer walked up to visitors, begging for a piece of food. You could pet them. There were always bunnies in the bunny enclosure. If you saved up your bread ends and took... More

This conglomeration of rusted fences and dirty water bowls seems borderline illegal- or should be. The Bears are matted, overweight and lethargic, the walk is short and the pens small. Wilted veggies piled up in the sun for the animals food, the day I visited the water bowls looked pretty green. Unwelcoming.

Over a 25 year period this place has been a staple in our children's lives. in the earlier years many of the animals were able to run around free. the deer would walk up to its and eat out of our hands. we began to see the dwindling down of animals that were either gotten rid of or locked up....
