Fall is a favorite camping time for my family and we try to stay at new places whenever possible. We booked camping at Tugaloo because of no available sites at Tallulah Gorge for the dates we traveled. This turned out to be a bit of luck because the campground at Tugaloo is very nice. The comfort stations are very clean... More

The walk in campsites were great! Plenty of privacy between campsites and good views. The area was very clean, bathrooms were newer and well maintained. The staff and camp host were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

We stayed three nights in one of the new yurts. I definately want to go back. Coming from Arizona, I didn't have any camping equipment with us except for sleeping bags, which was really all we needed. We stayed in Yurt #4. It was clean, had plenty of electical outlets, two lights and a place to store food and miscellaneous... More

We reserved a particular cabin in this park...#19. It was as expected..clean and comfortable. Downside, the refridgerator sounded like a motorboat and from this cabin, its hard to get to the water. Cabin has tv.. 2 bedrooms with double, not queen beds. Cabins has a/c and a porch .. not covered so if it's raining your stuck inside or you'll... More

We stayed at the Yurt Village in Tugaloo State Park. The Yurt was $75/night. We had 4 adults and two kids in the Yurt. Our Yurt and Yurt site came equipped with the following: one futon bed, one futon/twin bunk bed, one table w/ 4 spinning stools, one coffee table, one table w/ storage space for supplies/dry food, one ceiling... I couldn't get six people to stay with me in the woods, heck I couldn't get one. I couldn't get a Yurk on the water. But this is luxury, a Yurk is a structure that requires no set up. You need to bring linens, I stopped at K mart and bought a pillow. You need to bring food to cook... More

Be sure to get a campsite on the water (premium). There is no extra cost and it's worth it to wake up each day. We actually got to tour the yurts which were adorable. The cabins are spacious and right on the water with docks. There is putt putt as well as tons of wildlife. Would have liked to have... More

We stayed in Yurk #3. The view was awesome. The beds are a little hard but sleepable. The biggest problems about Yurks 2 - 6 is they are down hill from the parking lot and the bathhouse. If you have any disability you have a real problem using those Yurks. Number one is handicap accessible and is level with the... More

Tugaloo is a very large state park. It is probably best described as a recreation area for lake lovers. What I loved about Tugaloo is it had something for every type of camping. RV, tent, cabins and Yurts! If you do not like tent camping amongst RVs there is a 'walk in' tent camping area. You park in the parking... More

This was our first trip to Tugaloo and probably our last. It probably did not help that we were there during a heat wave and temps were a humid 100 degrees all week. We had a premium site (waterfront) and the site was great. Right by the water, so we just kept our boat tied up at our site. This... More
