Being from south Ga it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to peanuts. Today it was raining and the shop looked interesting so we stopped. The owner was extremely family friendly and very helpful. The boiled peanuts were good and not overly salty. The peach cider is outstanding. I highly recommend this place be a stop while... More

Even if you have never tried boiled peanuts you must stop at Fred's. This small outdoor store (stand?) has samples ready to try. The regular and fried varieties were great; the Cajun were awesome. We bought 3 large scoops - delicious with a cold beverage.

Don't just drive by! We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who let us sample just about everything. Their boiled peanuts are amazing, worth the stop!

Every time we visit Helen we stop for some peanuts ... Brittle, fried, and roasted ... Unfortunately none of them make it back home ! Luckily they ship ! Awesome family run business ... Make the stop you won't be disappointed ..

I have never had a boiled peanut til now, and enjoyed this store to the max. The owner shared stories and samples of his peanut brittle, pork rinds, variety of peanuts and the best cider ever. Just a delight! Expect a line, and do yourself a favor and get double of whatever you are seeking. We liked it so much... More

Hot boiled peanuts. Done wrong they're miserable...mushy, overcooked. Done right they're wonderful. Fred's does them right. Got both the regular & cajun...fresh, crisp & delicious-wife said they were the best she'd had in a long time. Quaint little place with a small selection of other items as others have noted in their reviews-will be back.

We got the cajun peanuts and pork skins...very yummy! Friendly service, they let you sample everything. Neat little place to check out if you are in the area.

we usually stop by here on our way to Anna Ruby falls, been doing this for the last several years, usually they have been really nice and friendly and we pickup some peanuts and other goodies - not on this occasion tho. Peanuts were way too salty, wanted to see if we could combine the unsalted and regular peanuts in... More

The best boiled peanuts in town. Charming place, pretty location, selling all kinds of goodies from jams, peanut brittle, to pork skins. The staff is very friendly. I have been to other peanut vendors in the area and received over salted and soured peanuts. Since eating the ones from Fred's, I have remained loyal. One of the last wholesome places... More
