A beautiful, shady hike.

We hiked the Raven Cliffs trail 6/29/15. We got an early start which was smart. The trail became crowded on our way out. It is a very shady trail. I did not need my sunglasses... read more

We hiked the Raven Cliffs trail 6/29/15. We got an early start which was smart. The trail became crowded on our way out. It is a very shady trail. I did not need my sunglasses. There are many camp sites along the way. The falls leading up to the top were prettier than the one at the top. That may... More

Raven Cliff is different form most North Georgia falls in that the water essentially bursts form a cleft in the rock into a gorge. The treck is long - 2.5 miles each way and very "rooty" but fortunately it is mostly in the shade. We made the trip on a Friday morning and I was surprised at the number of... More

My wife and I loved this walk. It was mostly in the shade, about 2.5 miles there and the same back. It takes about 1 hour each way. Most of the walk is beside the stream/river. Mostly the walk is easy apart from tree roots. However, there were a few moderate bits. Certainly not a place to take a stroller!... More

This is one of the best hikes my family and I have been on in N. Georgia. It is about 5 miles round trip and the terrain is rooty and rocky in spots, there is some steepness in certain areas, but mostly a steady up-hill to the falls. There are several side paths down to the creek that follows the... More

Beautiful hike .. I'll take somebody with me next time though. Take a change of clothes so you can get in the waterfalls .. Make sure you stop at all the falls not just the main one

Very easy parking, moderate 5 mile round trip hike to an impressive waterfall. It is possible to climb a "root ladder" to the top of the falls and look out over the Chattahoochee national forest. Camping is also allowed along the trail.

My husband and I hiked this last week. We thought it was one of the most scenic hikes we have ever taken in Georgia. We loved climbing up the tree roots at the end to get to the top of the cliff. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I really would have liked a... More

We hiked to Raven Cliffs falls whine spending a ling weekend in Helen. Given it was a Thursday we saw about 20 other hikers the entire trip. Very peaceful and water volume was great due to the rainy spring we've had in North Georgia. This hike takes several hours round trip so bring water and take a break at some... More

This is a trail that is near and dear to my heart. It is a good length at almost 5 miles. The difficulty is easy to moderate. Quite enjoyable due to the scenery. The trail is an in and out, but due to it following water nearly the entire time the hike is just as fun on the way out.... More
