We spent Christmas with family and stayed in the gate lodge.

It was perfect everything we needed. It was spotless and roomy. We are looking forward to going back again for a wedding this summer.

A wonderful day spent at Huntington Castle. Mrs Claus greeted is with a very warm welcome. We toured through the castle to see the nativity and Santa's present train. Santa was very welcoming. He spoke to them and was very interested in all their stories. Afterwards we had tea and cake in the tearoom and a lovely walk on through... More

We took two elderly relatives from California for an afternoon visit to Huntington Castle, and we certainly enjoyed it. Not just for the lovely gardens and trees, but also our conversations with the people maintaining the flowerbeds, and the owner of the castle who very kindly opened the tea rooms just for our benefit, and told us something or her... We stayed in the beautiful gate lodge- self catering apartment... Very well equipped, and spotless and very nicely renovated. We had a very pleasant stay there, went to the local pub , just around the corner which was warm and homely too. In the morning we went for a stroll around the castle ground which are amazing and so beautiful!... More

way over priced for what it is, there are a lot of other attractions at half the price and better equipped, playground for the kids is unsafe, inaccessible for buggies or prams and dirty, the gardens are inaccessible for buggies and prams, looks like a place that is only new to visitors and not well equipped...my advice, leave it a... Hi Noel we were sorry to see you did not have an enjoyable experience - To respond to your points- Our playground is a ROSPA (safety standard) designed and approved playground situated in a natural woodland. It is not unsafe or 'dirty' - and lots of buggies and prams regularly access both the playground and the gardens without any problem... More

I visited here with my family in August 2015 and this place is a total gem. We we given a castle tour by the current owner and he is able to give a brief story of his family. Excellent and highly recommended. There is also an adventure playground which little ones will love.

I originally visited Huntington Castle some years ago and was pleasantly surprised on this visit as things had improved considerably. This building dates back to the 15th century and is situated in grounds which you can tour. The gardens are lovely with a walk laid out most of the grounds are not done in the formal style are pleasant but... More

Visited Huntington Castle with my sister and dad last week. It was a beautiful sunny day so we took our time and walked around their beautiful gardens, had a cuppa and some tasty coffee cake in the coffee shop and then did the guided trip around the castle. Very interesting. Well worth a visit.

We had planned to visit Huntington Castle for some time and finally got there today. What a fabulous place it turned out to be. We did the house tour which was conducted by a member of the family. He was very good and had all the dates and names of past family members through the ages at his finger tips.... More

My wife and I visited Huntington castle and gardens as part of "Carlow Garden Festival". Had tea in a beautiful courtyard, served by the most gracious American ladies accompanied by chickens and a peacock! Was amazed at the extensive outbuildings which added very considerably to the charm of the place. Did the garden tour with Dermot O'Neill and then the... More
