Visited with kids aged 7 to 16 and everyone was charmed with this atmospheric and intriguing place. This is no restored history museum piece. Instead history lives and continues with original family descendents still at home and giving the tour. The house is fascinating and some great family stories to be heard. Roses in full bloom, plentiful and fragrant around... More

A MUST see if you are travelling to Ireland!....Huntington Castle is by far one of my favourite destinations in Ireland! ...Beautiful, peaceful gardens and the paintings on display in the castle are worthy of a visit in their own right. I truly encourage everyone to include this destination on their Bucket List when they are visiting Ireland...I would also recommend... More

Well worth a visit. Exceptionally interesting and very unique. Beautiful gardens. Tearooms are lovely. Has a peacock, hens, cock, pigs cat and dogs to see and talk to. Playground is good for children.

I was looking forward to coming to Huntington Castle and Gardens but found it a little bit of an anticlimax arriving to a very aggressive lady at the window where you buy the tickets. It cost €32 for three adults and a child which I think is way too expensive for what we saw. The was a farm advertised online... More

We're sorry you were disappointed by your visit here - to respond to few of the issues raised - you said that on the tour you were 'brought in the front door and shooed out the back door' every tour is a fully guided tour that visits a number of rooms within the castle lasting about 35 minutes. Sorry about... More

What a super place to visit in a tiny little picturesque town... We were a group of 5 adults , one of which is american, and wow did we love this place, from the quaint coffee shop in the courtyard to the fantastic gardens to the tour of the house. The tour is given by a member of the family... More

This really is a case of a hidden gem. Situated in the village this place is a perfect exaple of a lived in Castle/Fort Our tour guide John was a great guy. We paid €9 for the house and gardens tour I would have paid again no problem. The tea rooms gardens and castle are enchanting and well worth a... More

Huntington Castle is very popular and deservedly so. Our tour was led by a member of the original family which still inhabits the castle. The tour lasted approximately an hour and flew by because the guide was so interesting. Unfortunately it was difficult to see and hear everything because there were so many people on the tour. The guide was... More

Lovely small Irish castle still owned by the original family. Tour giide Alex gave an excellent run-through of the history of his ancestors and the role of the castle within the history of the local area whilst showing us through the rooms - think 'Downton Abbey' decor but on a smaller scale! Beautifully tended extensive gardens outside to explore with... More

Went to the Halloween Ghost Tour for Adults, and it was excellent perfectly spooky and yes had well worked frights along the way. Time and money has been invested for this attraction and it's well worth the entry fee. It takes 35mins (as advertised!) which is a tad short, but when your left wanting more then your hosts have done... More

In addition to drinking tea at the pleasant, quaint tearoom and a tour of the castle, we spent the night in the castle. Alex and Clare were wonderfully hospitable hosts. We happened to arrive on Tuesday, when the local restaurant Sha Roe Bistro was closed, but Alex recommended restaurants in nearby Bunclody. When we returned that night, Alex offered us... More
