Our small town considers the Square in downtown Decatur to be the heart of community activities. We have so many wonderful events each year, all held on the Square, and most are free to attend. The Decatur Book Festival (Labor Day weekend) is one of the largest book/art/performance art/music festivals in the SE. The Decatur Arts Festival (Memorial Day weekend)... More

A great place to shop and eat. Be sure to check for special events...they offer a variety of things throughout the year.

There are a lot of great shops, bars and restaurants on or near "the square" which is more of an awkward rectangle than a true southern town square. Parking is pretty scarce, and the police ticket enthusiastically. If you go be sure to wander around, up and down Ponce and around corners to make sure you don't miss anything! And... More

A great place to visit on any trip to Atlanta. Not as crowded as some other hot spots, but great bar hopping scene if you are into that. Its a fun place for a quiet bite to eat, a boozy night out with friends, or a family dinner. There is a little bit for everyone in the square. Don't miss... More

This smart, compact Southern downtown just east of Atlanta proper has kept up with the times. Good bars and good restaurants abound, all within walking distance of each other. Underneath the square is the Decatur station of MARTA, Atlanta's rail transit system, which is a good thing since parking can be tight.

Surrounded by eateries and landmarks, a place to meet and greet, close to public transit, easy to find for out of towners

A MARTA station, a park, and some of the best restaurant within walking distance. Cute shops and great people watching. What else could you ask for?

I really, really hate the limited parking around the square. You are only allowed 2.0 hours of parking during normal business hours.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The shops were adorable and gave off a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. My only warning is that these shops can get pretty expensive, though that's totally understandable: Decatur really loves its local artists! But even if you don't buy a thing, you walk away feeling like you've experienced one of Georgia's little gems. Parking is $2/hr... More
