What are you looking to eat? Likely you will find it on Decatur Square! This place has such a great vibe that I sometimes just enjoy going down there to walk around. People are so friendly and weather you want a full meal or a quick snack there are plenty of options. The surrounding streets are also filled with little... More

I went to the Decatur Book Festival on Saturday. Sure it was sunny and hot but there were lots of trees providing SHADE. It is fun for everyone. Volunteers handed out coupons for free kids books. There were food vendors and restaurants open to all. I saw Pat Conroy signing books for fans. I absolutely loved the ATL van featuring... More

We enjoy visiting the square when we're in town visiting family. Excellent shops, restaurants, coffee shoppes, ice cream and candy stores, and free parking. Delightful.

A nice square, old fashioned in a way. Plenty of restaurants, shops and some good people watching. The public transit [MARTA] stops right at the square. Good way to kill an afternoon.

Like most places in Atlanta, this area is under renovation, so even though there are lots of neat shops, bars, and restaurants, it feels kind of like a war zone. Eventually, it's going to be really fun to hang out there, but not yet.

We were really surprised and impressed by Decatur's Square. We weren't sure what we were coming up on, but all the shops looked fun and there was a plethora of delicious smelling food. It was very lively and busy, and we saw a few police officers patrolling the area who seemed friendly with the locals. Overall we wished we'd known... More

Eclectic food, performance venues, shopping. Cheap parking. Minutes from the Emory campus. We thoroughly enjoyed the Decatur Arts festival which sprawled all over the square. Browsing the artists' stalls helped us find new places to eat and shop. All kinds of people enjoying a lovely afternoon.

I grew up about 4 miles from the square. Went to DeKalb County schools in the 1960's. I walk around the area CONFUSED. I still call the courthouse that was built in the 1960's the "NEW" courthouse. Is that where the movie theatre was where I saw "the Beatles, HARD DAYS NIGHT"? Is that where the Belk Gallant Store was?... More
