Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge is a little known, but very nice park. There are all kinds of birdlife to see; wood storks, herons, ducks, egrets, spoon bills, and plenty of alligators. There is also a very nice dock to fish from, and there are many well maintained hiking trails.

Walk along the river, see the Shrimp Boats, Aligators and other wildlife. Ruins of old building nearby, nice wooden walk way. Relax after Dinner.

Conveniently located, maintained OK, but nothing to do except watch the water flow by. Dockage area in need of clean up, although not heavily used.

A lovely area with a really great place to eat on the water. We had a delicious shrimp dinner there! The shrimp boats are there on the water which we watched coming in and going out. There are some tabbly walls remaining from the old town from years past which lend a nostalgic feel. We met some teenage boys who... More

Darien is home to the largest shrimp fleet in the area and makes a nice background when viewing the river from the park. There is ample seating and a small covered pier-like area over looking the docks. The grounds are well kept and convenient to parking. If you want to eat or drink there, get something before you go. It... More

This is a lovely grassy park along the Darien river. It is quite scenic with docked shrimp boats. Many pictures are taken here at sunset which is often spectacular. It's only two minutes off of I-95 so it's a great place to stretch your legs if you are driving a long distance.

Darien must be one of the most under publicized historical places in the United States. In the 1700's, the British established an important foothold in North America from here. It is the second planned city in the State of Georgia and was originally called New Inverness because the settlers came from Inverness in Scotland. This is a well done small... More

Quiet place to watch nature and the boats. Always some birds and occasionally a dolphin has been sighted.
