The Funky Chicken Art Project is the working studio of artists James Sargous, and Christina White. While they welcome guests to visit the studio while they are there working, they are no longer able to keep regular business hours as they travel to art shows, and do on site commissions regularly. If you want to come by and be certain they are there, you may call first and find out when they will be able to receive visitors. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This is the kind of funny (OK, funky) little place that sticks with you once you've stumbled on it during a vacation. My wife, sons and I first came upon it more than 20 years ago, drawn by a small, roadside sign on the route from Dahlonega to Amicalola Falls State Park. Back at about the midpoint of Wesley Chapel... More

From the website we determined to put the Funky Chicken Art Project on our agenda, but when we drove several miles out of the way to find it, we found it closed, grown up, and no art! The kids were very disappointed, as was I.

Noticed that all the reviews were several years old. Called the phone number I found on the internet and learned they are no longer open to the public.

While out visit to the Southern terminus of the AT, we decided to make a stop at The Funky Chicken Art Project. After stopping in downtown Dahlonega with the typical general store, art gallery, and diner, we made a stop at the Funky Chicken. At this studio we met the nicest artist who explained their work and allowed you to... More

Owners Christina White, a hand and chainsaw woodcarver, and James Sargous, a painter and woodcarver, are often found working away at some new project. They're always ready to answer questions and show visitors around the gallery. They carry pottery, sculpture, weaving, jewelry, painting, furniture and more from local artists and from around the world. Often they have working artists in... More

Off the beaten path, this is a rare gem! This place had lots of featured local artist of a variety of different styles. The owners are very friendly and take time to talk about the different things that they have on display. Will visit again!

I loved the funky chicken! The art and atmosphere is so unique. The owners are so friendly and when I bought a piece the artist resigned it for me. The funky chicken is a great place to stop in and check out!

Visiting this place was the highlight of our trip to the Dahlonega. Lots of cool art, funky setting in a refurbished chicken house, and beautiful surroundings. Some interesting animals too! The owner was warm and friendly and gave us a tour. A great off-the-beaten-path place to explore!

A really neat gallery located in a refurbished chicken house. Wide selection of paintings, stain glass, sculpture and jewelry. The sculpture garden in the back is also really neat. No telling what you might find. An eclectic kind of place. Really funky as name implies. Great owner to visit with. The gallery is not to far from Amicalola Falls.
