Your tour guide welcomes interaction from the group as you experience life as a miner at the turn of the century.After your tour, you will receive gold panning instructions from some of the best panners in the world, having won numerous awards in the field. Then you will get a chance to try if for yourself and hopefully you’ll strike it rich!While you are at the mine, don’t forget to try our “Gemstone Grubbin’” for a great family experience. Everyone will love our water powered flume boxes that quickly wash away material revealing beautiful gemstones! We have buckets for beginners and experts alike. There’s no better way to strike it rich!The Mines remain at a comfortable 60 degrees year round. As a reminder, this is a walking tour. Guests enter the mine via three flights of stairs and two ramps. Tennis shoes are recommended and closed toed shoes are a must! Flip Flops are not permitted for the Underground Adventure.Pets and strollers are not permitted in the mine.TRAVEL 200 FEET UNDERGROUND AND 100 YEARS BACK IN TIME!

You can pan for gold and gems at other places, but this is an actual mine you can first tour. The panning is included with the tour also. Very informative and fun for the whole family.

I have taken my family to visit this mine three times. Our first trip was a school visit. We decided to take my other children back another time so they too could enjoy it. Our second visit was very disappointing and we were highly offended by comments made by both our tour guide and a cashier in the gift shop.... More

My family of 5 had the greatest time at the Gold Mine today!! Miner Jaime Shed kept everybody involved and engaged throughout the tour. My 6 and 9 year old not only learned history about the area, but also enjoyed panning for Gold and got to keep the Gems as a souvenir!! Even if you are in the Ellijay or... More

We had a great time with the kids, pan for gold and gems and taking a mine tour. This is a must if you are in Dahlonega. Jamie our tour guide was fantastic.

Really a great place to take the kids and a short drive from N Atlanta. The tour is really interesting and our tour guide JD was amazing and funny!! The gem mining was great and the kids really enjoyed the variety. Everyone there was so helpful and made the experience so fun! Worth the admission!

The tour was extremely fun and interesting and our guide was excellent. Really cool experience. Very easy to find and lots of parking. Very glad we went! Worth the admission.

Outside was junky looked like scene from horror movie. Staff was nice and helpful. Our daughter enjoyed gem mining experience. Did not stay for mine tour.

I have always wanted to pan for gold, so my husband and I went to the Consolidated Gold Mine. There were a lot of huge field trip groups that day, but thankfully we were squeezed into a group between the field trips so we didn't have to gkeep through the mine with a bunch of noisy kids.
