Drove an hour and a half to go here with my family and called the day before for information. Was told hours and pricing and time requirements. Went there today at 10:35 to be told that they can't accommodate any of the General public until 12:30 due to a field trip. Why was I not told to come after 12:30... More

It was a really Interesting part of history to experience with our family...our guides name , I think was Dave .. Big guy in overalls, who expressed himself with enthusiasm, shared his knowledge while guiding the tour 200 feet underground, and we discovered how difficult the gold miners worked for a $1 a day ! Following the tour, we met... More

We really enjoyed the Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega. This is a real gold mine from the 1830s, the site of the first gold rush in the United States. The mine was reopened about 15 years ago. There are miles of underground tunnels going very deep. The tour brings you to the upper level of the mine which is still... More

They were so helpful and informative. Make sure to take your time and really enjoy the gold and gem mining, it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the tour. I was a little paranoid about going down into a mine, but it was very interesting and put my day to day job in perspective.

We visited while staying on Lake Hartwell with 4 families with kids between 6 and 12. It was the highlight of a day trip from the lake. The kids and adults had a great time. The mine tour by Precious was both informative and entertaining. We panned for gold and for gems and everyone came home with something. I highly... More

This place was a pleasant surprise and well worth every penny. The staff were extremely friendly and full of information. Precious, our tour guide, interacted with the whole group and made it not only informational but fun for the kids. Memories are made here so If you are in the area don't miss out on this hidden gem. (Pun intended)

This was great. We had a 5 year old & 8 year old with us. You get to pan for gold. It was fun. They put the gold nuggets you panned in a glass tube for you. The kids loved it. They show you a video about the gold mining & then you take a 40 minute tour underground in... More

Loved the tour with our very knowledgeable guide. And we actually found a few little pieces of gold in our pans. This was lots of fun and very informative. A perfect destination for anyone with gold fever! Stop in at the Dahlonega Visitors Center in town and get discount tickets.

We had a blast learning the history of this mine as well as taking the tour 200 feet underground. We panned for gold and even "found" some great gems. The tour guides Andre young and knowledgeable. A fun day for me and my wife. More fun for her Andres she got some nice jewelry out of it.
