Plan on spending about $20 per adult for a bucket of dirt. The employees are very helpful in teaching you how to pan. Then help you place your gold in a small vile of water for you to take home. You can also pan for gems found in the region. This is a great place for kids to have fun... More

Next is the underground tour where you down to the old gold mines. It is quite the experience! Our guide was funny and very knowledgable about the history of this... More

OK, we just had to visit Dahlonega's gold mine while we were in the area. Consolidated Gold mine offers a package where you can start off panning for gold and then take a guided tour of their gold mine. CJ was our tour guide, and he was fantastic! He showed us the tools used in the mine, how they worked... More

My 10 year old daughter and I had a great time. First we got to go into the old mine and learned about mining and got to see all the tools used to extract the Gold. Our guide Chris was knowledgable and fun. After we left the mine we learned how to gold pan and my daughter got 9 nuggets... More

Our 13 year old was very impressed, which is often hard to keep his interest when it comes to history. Tour guide was very knowledgable. Price was affordable and the gold panning at the end was... This was our second trip to Consolidated Gold Mine. Our last trip was nine years ago and the kids barely remember it. Now all three are teenagers and hard to please. Your admission includes a tour through the mine and a pan of dirt for panning. They have added a lot of space since our first visit. Both the store... More

Our first time here, the kids absolutely loved the gold panning and gem mining (they keep talking about it throughout our trip) the tour was fun and educational, the guide was funny and knowledgeable and the staff were all so friendly and helpful if we had questions. Very interesting to learn about the history of mining in Georgia!
