This was such a blast! The miners are so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The tour underground was very informative and lots of fun! Panning for gold and gems is a lot of fun as well. Also the jewelers are friendly, answered all our questions, helped pick out jewelry to have made from our gems we panned. Overall a great time!... More

Guide was very good, and a world champion gold panner (really). The tour was nicely done and is great when it is raining.

We stopped there on the way to Hiawasee. You get to "pan for gold" first. You watch a shirt, informative video, then go into the mine with a guide. Interesting and informative. A bit dilly in underground mine so you might want to take a light sweater.

Visited the mine and had a great time. It was very interesting going into the mine and seeing what the conditions really were like. Tour guide did a great job explaining. Panning for gold was a fun experience too. Worth the $15 admission fee.

This is an excellent opportunity to see what it would have been like to pan for gold. The tour included instruction in paning for gold, a tour of the mine, and an five minute educational video of the mine's history. The guide, Micah, was awesome. My children had a wonderful time. My daughter even got to turn on a drill.

Very cool place we got to pan for gold, go down into the mine and the tour guide kept the adult and kids interested. They were energetic and very knowledgeable. If your visiting the city this is a must hit for the family.

Myself, wife and grand daughter visited the mine mainly for my hobby and interest. I thoroughly appreciated the underground visit 200 ft. down into the old mine shaft. A history lesson is given about the days when mine was active. It was really inspirational to me to learn how the mine operated in the old days. There is panning for... More
