My husband doesn't like to go to touristy places....but, he enjoyed this one! So much history we did not know. The caves underground were very interesting. We had a wonderful guide. We even saw some bats. This place was very organized.

We decided to visit Dahlonega with our elderly parents on this sunny October Sunday. The mine was a great attraction. Even they don't have wheelchair capability, the 47 steps are relatively easy and the 45 minutes tour at an easy speed. Chris our guide was always taking care that the family was there and safe. HE told us a lot... More

Y'all this is a fantastic place!! I had some friends from out of town visit and decided to visit the goldmines in the area. (I'm local) I have never been myself after 6 years living in the area. We went to Crision and it was terrible! I've never meet more unfriendly people. I was embarrassed. So completely disappointed i decided... More

This goldmine has been around for so long! I've heard the tunnels go all the way under the Wal-Mart next door! My son would do this tour and pan for gold and gems everyday if I'd let him. It has a huge gift shop, too. We saw a few bats and real gold down inside the mine. Great place to... More

I enjoyed the tour of the old gold mine quite a bit. Our tour guide Austin was very well informed and able to answer various questions as well as involve the children for an entertaining walk down into the caves. The gold panning was fun, but I absolutely recommend the gem grubbing. It was a great value for touristy fun... More

Our entire family went on the tour of the underground gold mine . . . . . we enjoyed it very much and this was due to the knowledgeable guide that we had. Austin was informative and knew so much about the mine and its history. He helped us pan for Gold and he was very personable with each of... More

We took several members of our family including our son and granddaughter on a tour of the gold mine ...and fun was had by all. Our guide told us about the history of gold mining in Dahlonega including the stories that make history fun. And he encouraged us to ask questions! The adults enjoyed it as much as the kids!... More

Great tour! This is a history lesson worth hearing. Very interesting and informative about the gold rush in Georgia. The panning is a little silly but you do get the feel for it. Good to do with kids.

Found Consolidated on TripAdvisor looking for something not too far from Atlanta, but that was a new experience for our family (including our 6 year old - he can be a tough critic). We arrived around 2 and immediately caught the first tour to the mine (on a weekday they seem to run hourly). Precious was a great tour guide,... More
