My wife and I spent a few days at Lake Blackshear and really enjoyed the area. My wife's favorite part was the $5 kayak rental! I enjoyed the pontoon boat and beautiful scenery.

We camped here in May '15. It was not real crowded and we got a site on the lake. It was nice, quiet, clean, with plenty of room to walk the dogs. I would recommend this to anyone. We camped in a 30' motorhome.

We had rented a house on the lake at Lake Blackshear for Father's Day weekend. We were traveling with my family and my parents. My dad brought his boat and the first trip out for the weekend, it broke down. We ended up renting a pontoon boat for a few hours from the marina so we could get out and... More

Very nice and quiet state park. On Lake Blackshear which is great for boating and fishing. The location of this property insures that it is not very busy even on holidays. Good golf course. Nice resort property a bit dated but very reasonable. ( check for discount coupon web sites). Great fine dining restaurant. Great small hotel type bar. Open... More

This is a multi-purpose State Park. The original feature is a vast collection of monuments and military hardware related mostly to WWI and WWII. There is a vast lake with marina for fisherpersons. Golf course. Not for us, but for you? Although we did not use this, there is a posh lodge with dining. And, the RV camps along the... More

We just got home from a great week of camping at Georgia Veterans State Park. We had great time, and we met wonderful people. We camped on the lake, and the view was wonderful. The campground is clean, and it has shaded spots. The comfort stations could be updated. It can be hard for larger campers to get around due... More

Loved the shady trees and the safe beach area for kids. Great place for a family gathering in the shade enjoying the warmer weather. No glass allowed and no dogs on the beach. Shame about the dogs as it looks like great place for them to enjoy too. Plenty of shady parking too.

Rented an RV last Spring Break (2014) and traveled to this park from Gainesville, FL. What a great decision! This park has is all - boat ramp, on-site hotel & restaurant, canoe rentals, fantastic trails, Frisbee golf (free!), and a museum! There's also a beach area for swimming (but when we went it was in the 50s so we didn't... More
