This museum was just the right size. Not super busy and easy to find. You can walk it in an hour, but if you take your time expect 2-3 hours. The art exhibits were great and there is a docent there to answer questions. Down stairs they have hands on exhibits for children. Definetly worth the trip. Free admission, donations... More

I love art and antiques and history and old weaponry. Hearing my very specific adorations, the Columbus Museum apparently put its glorious self together for my benefit. At least, that's how it feels. I spent a brief afternoon at the Columbus Museum and have been reprimanding myself for days now due to my lack of time there. Two afternoons--two afternoons... More

The museum itself was very nice but we didn't get to see a lot of it since we were there for a wedding.

As a previous gallery owner, I would prefer a museum dedicated to one or two themes as opposed to some historical information, some furniture, some glassware, some silver, some contemporary art and so forth.

The viewer walks through the "Leaving Mississippi" experiencing the the slaves search for freedom. The remainder of the museum was just average.

Best Art Museum I have been to in a long while. I frequent this type museum on monthly basis, because my daughter is an art student. The Columbus Museum is definitely the cleanest and most up to date one I have seen in a couple years. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, unlike the over priced Art Museum... The Columbus Museum is a hidden treasure in Columbus and valley area; there is a lot to see and do at the museum. Every third Thursday of the month from 6-8 PM there is live entertainment focused around art within the museum with free food, they have art classes for people to take, they also have American Art History classes.... I was very hesitant at first and I didn't expect much from a small local museum. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the artwork and they have some nice traveling shows. The kids area in the basement is on the smaller side, but the kids still have fun dressing up or drawing. If there are too many kids... More
