Best Art Museum I have been to in a long while. I frequent this type museum on monthly basis, because my daughter is an art student. The Columbus Museum is definitely the cleanest and most up to date one I have seen in a couple years. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, unlike the over priced Art Museum... The Columbus Museum is a hidden treasure in Columbus and valley area; there is a lot to see and do at the museum. Every third Thursday of the month from 6-8 PM there is live entertainment focused around art within the museum with free food, they have art classes for people to take, they also have American Art History classes.... I was very hesitant at first and I didn't expect much from a small local museum. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the artwork and they have some nice traveling shows. The kids area in the basement is on the smaller side, but the kids still have fun dressing up or drawing. If there are too many kids... More

Enjoyed learning about the local area. The children's area needs sprucing up. The exhibits upstairs were not kid friendly so we didn't see artwork. Overall, a decent museum.

I feel that many people think Columbus does not have much to offer in the area of enjoyment and museums, but this was exceptionally above my expectations and I would definitely come back.

While waiting to see our son at Ft. Benning, we decided to spend some time at this museum, and we are so glad we did. First, it is FREE, but they do put out a container for donations. We donated about $5 per person in our group. The place is beautiful inside and well kept with many exhibits. It is... More

This museum was suggested as a place to get an overview of Columbus and it is true! It has a nice, historic section that really gave a "Who are these people and how did they get here" perspective. We did not know much about Columbus other than Fort Benning, and enjoyed learning about the Civil War history, the Native American... More

History of the area, lots of interactive displays for kids, in fact there is an entire area set aside for children. This museum has art and history for all ages.

There aren't very many things now days that you can do or visit that are educational, well kept and are FREE, which is always a plus! - They do accept donations which we always give and considering the staff on hand, the cleanliness of the grounds and museum, I know my donations are going back into keeping the museum a... The museum is Free and very professionally done. I especially enjoyed the movie that traced the history of the Columbus area from the time of the Indians to presen day Columbus and surrounding are. The legacy section was my favorite but my wife enjoyed. The art exhibits. Traditional over the contemporary. Well worth the time.
