This is a neat museum and I enjoy visiting when I have time. Did I mention it's free? A great place to hang out for an hour or two. More

This museum has fascinating dioramas that you walk through, tracing the history of people of this region from prehistoric up through today. It also has a fabulous collection and world class visiting shows. The children's area is captivating for youngsters More

We enjoyed the variety of beautiful art, specifically the Soldier's Portraits. Some exhibits were not as presentable as others (product placement, selection), but considering the tough fundraising in this economy, it's understandable. We can't wait to see their next big exhibit. More

This is a fine museum often overlooked by visitors to Columbus. It includes visiting art exhibits as well as a good permanent collection. There is an extensive, standing exhibit featuring events in the history of Columbus and the Chattahoochee River Valley. A very pleasant place to spend an afternoon. More

From old time houses and shops to a cotton mill to a boat load of glass sculptures and antique furniture, the Columbus museum is very nice. The art collection is modest, but first rate, but the exhibition of the history of the city and how it developed is very interesting. My great-grandmother died here in 1920, and I have a... More

It had been awhile since my family's last visit to the Museum and we were surprised at how much the exhibits had changed. My teenagers really enjoyed the civil war exhibit and learning about what happened during that time period in Columbus and the local area. It is a great, free place to visit in Columbus. More

First off, the museum appearance is beautiful from the outside, but be aware that you will drive through a rough part of Columbus to get there. Not every exit in Columbus is exactly safe. After reaching the destination, however, I found the reception by the clerk poor at best. There was no greeting when I went inside, and when I... More

My husband and I just visited the Columbus Museum and were pleasantly surprised. Our tip to Georgia had been less than thrilling so we made our way to the museum with low expectations. We were greeted by a friendly woman at the front desk who gave us a brief rundown of the museum. We decided to forgo the guided tour... More
