Its Just a Giant Cow

I also was intrigued and wondered if this cow had to do with the Chic Fil A in the mall. Interesting to read that it has a historical attachment to the city. Neat to read about and neater to see knowing the history of the cow!

If you're not from Columbus originally, it might seem weird that so many people are crazy about Kadie the Cow. She's just a massive cow, and sits in front of Best Buy now. She used to be outside a dairy place, and had a baby cow. Someone stole it. Anyway, it's a good photo op if you happen to be... More

Funny that the Cow is a Visting Point. It would be nicer if the People that stole her Baby would return it. A lot of Folks stopped by than to take pics of the two. But Yes she is the Original and History to the City. Your find her infront of the Best Buy Store. Funny huh. But there is... More

On our first visit to Best Buy the sight of a giant cow was so random and out of place. Long time locals know the history of the area, but visitors and new residents have nothing, such as a land-marker, describing the reason for its continued existence. Why was this dairy so important to Columbus and the surrounding area?

Yes, it's a cow sitting on a slope next to a commercial parking lot. Duh! But it's also a landmark and something free and fun to do while you're traveling. I personally love great photo ops, especially if they're free!

Once upon a time, Kinnett Dairy was housed at the present location of Best Buy. Luckily, Kadie the Cow, who had become such a Columbus landmark, was saved and still stands tall watching over the area. People enjoy having their picture made with her and "old timers" like to come home and see she still stands.

Yes its a cow in a Best Buy parking lot but it's a slice of history and makes you smile. If you're for a quick stop and a picture go see Kadie.

This is just a huge statue of a cow located just outside BestBuy. Good for taking some pics. It was originally for Kinnett Dairy farm which closed. Now this space is the BestBuy parking lot.

So I am not sure why this is an attraction. It is just a big cow. There isn't any sign or museum describing the history of the cow so you just drive up to Best Buy and take a picture - skip it

You have to be a proud Columbus GA native to truly appreciate "Kadie The Cow". Growing up in the Muscogee County School District in Columbus I can vividly recall my childhood memories. Grade school bus feld trips ( tours) of the city was surely a fun learning experience. Sunshine Biscuits, Tom's Foods, Colonial Bread Company, Royal Crown Drink Co. and... More
