There is some restoration in process but it is beginning to look nice. There is a homeless population strewn about.

Columbus has a great cycling and walking facility called the Riverwalk. This facility extends north of Columbus to Lake Oliver and south to Fort Benning and the National Infantry Museum. You can bring your own bikes or rent them from several vendors.

I really couldn't say that its a 5 due to the feel you get walking along the riverwalk and the occasional homeless group or person taking up residence along the river. It kind of takes away from the good feeling you get when you see the lovely spillway or people out rafting. But, maybe thats just me. Still worth going... More

If you like walking running or biking. This is the place for you. You can go zip lining or river rafting. So much to do. Right at downtown Columbus, close to stores and restaurants.

Spent several hours today walking the Riverwalk with our small dog. We had so much fun people watching and our dog was able to make some friends as we walked. It helped that the weather was absolutely fabulous (70ish) even though it was the last day of January! There was so much to see and do. We watched kayakers taking... More

Great place but because of safety issues I wouldn't go alone or at night without some form of protection if you know what I mean. Same for the whole historic area there for about a four mile radius of the medical center hospital. Other than that it's pretty nice at the river walk and Broadway street area. Just be mindful... The Columbus Riverwalk provides a venue to walk, bike, run or just sit and enjoy the river. You can watch people rafting down the Chattahoochee or zip lining across the river. A very scenic place to just enjoy.

This was a pretty place to walk. A lot of things to look at, and the main (Front) street in Downtown is only a block away and a lot of cute stores and restaurants. I rated it as a 4, only because it is part of destination, but not the only destination, or it might be kind of boring. Columbus... More
