We took two walks here and loved them. It was great weather so the walk was nice. It was clean and peaceful

The riverwalk is very nicely done. A comfortable walk along the river. We saw zip liners and rafters wven though it was cold.

Pretty and convenient: Good track for popping up and down from the base to town with some good little hills and pretty spots.

What do you do with a decaying downtown, abandoned textile mills and crumbling warehouses? Columbus, Georgia, decided to build a lengthy, scenic riverwalk, relocate the local university arts dept. to the riverfront, develop a whitewater rafting center on the river, and encourage the conversion of empty textile facilities to high-end condos and restaurants. We like to walk with family and dogs, ride bikes, We go fishing, picnic. Nice long trail so you can start on post and make your way to river walk. Another outdoor area we like to play with pictures. The scenery is beautiful and there is, on the weekends a lot of people so be prepaired and the RIver is wide with big boulders that you can walk on, this is a Great River Walk and it is not to be missed.

Went there several times during our stay in Columbus during summer of 2014. We were in the area to see our son at basic training. Was a nice break for him during family leave weekend. Enjoyed a leisurely walk along the river back to our hotel from the National Civil War Navel Museum. Also enjoyed watching kayaks working the river rapids

First stop was the visitors center, which was recommended on the website. The staff was very friendly and helpful in letting know where to go next.
