We took our little RV to Fort Mtn mid-May. We got a spot on the trail around the lake. The camp store is too far away to walk to or even bike to if you're just a leisurely biker, but the store is great - super selection of items from cookbooks to necessities to apparel and hats, etc. The park... The staff in this park seems to be more down to earth and freindly than some of the other state parks. They have done a great job of keeping the park in good condition considering all the cut-backs with state funding. All trails were well marked. The views from several locations including the overlook were fantastic! Campgrounds were in great... More

We enjoyed our 4 day camping trip so much. They have lots of supervised activities for children, which means Mom and Dad get to relax a little. The trails are very well maintained, but you should still watch out for snakes. LOL!! We found one by accident and he wasn't happy about being bothered. The bathhouses are clean. They even... More

This Georgia State Park located on top of Fort Mountain is a delight. It has camping, swimming, cabins, hiking trails, a historic fort and gorgeous scenery. My favorite activity here is hiking and the trails are well marked and maintained. Just be prepared for the fact that the temps will be lower than down in the valley. Last time we... More

Fort Mountain State Park was a great place to spend spring break with a teenager. We were able to go mountain biking and hiking on their many trails. They have so many beautiful views. The camping areas were so nice and the bathrooms and showers were so clean!

My wife & I stayed just a short way down the road(Wilderness View Cabins) & found this state park. The park has a unique history. Lots of hiking trails (short 45 min. to longer 4-5 hr.). Trails are well maintained & marked. Make sure you get to the overlook, the view is breath-taking! I would give it 5 stars but... More

Such a wonderful place to visit. The history is neat (even though they don't know everything about the fort itself). The trails are kept up well and easy to hike. Make sure to check out the overlook as it has a wonderful view!

A great place to take the family for a day or a week! Nice lake, wonderful hiking trails, miniature golf in season, wonderful ranger lead educational sessions for the kids. The scenery is beautiful!
