This is a great place for the family if you like adventure and not in a hurry. Great photo opps but a long bumpy drive on gravel road and about a thirty minute hike to the falls. But it is a beautiful hike and not too hard. My children 8 and 6 were fine.

We did this short hike (1 mile) up the Benton MacKaye Trail to Long Creek Falls. The hike is easy and the falls are very nice. The rhododendron are everywhere and in a few weeks when they bloom it will be amazing. Lots of nice scenery on the way there. It's a good 2 hour activity.

The drive back into the hiking trail is slow due to dirt road but it's worth your time. There's limited parking in area so pick a spot when you see one. The falls are to the left and it's not marked by signs. We made the mistake of going to the right over the bridge and hiked for 4 miles... More

One of the most beautiful places around. Make sure you go. Gorgeous and worth the drive and small hike.

Not exactly a hike, but a very pleasurable walk uphill. My wife was 13 weeks pregnant and made it with no problem. The drive, as stated by many, is very confusing. I read some reviews and mapped out the directions on Google maps. I am uploading a photo of where to stop when you get to the trailhead. When you... More

It's a bit of a drive back in to the parking but it's a great peaceful drive. The hike to the falls is very relaxing and scenic. The waterfall is awesome and we really enjoyed it.

This was my #1 to do on my blue ridge list and it did not disappoint. The drive along the forest service road was not nearly as bad as I was expecting from some other posts. Just a hint, if you arrive when no one else is around to point to the trail, take the trail on the left as... More

Beautiful but long drive to falls. We went in the winter so can only imagine how much more beautiful the drive would be in the spring /fall! 5 miles of the trip was on an unpaved, windy forest road (not recognized on Google maps). Could miss the trail if you go at a time that no one else is there.... More

Beautiful drive with plenty of areas to stop along the way, the falls are about a 1.5 mile hike from the road/parking area. The hike itself was an easy incline, with well marked paths, leading to the falls. Yes, the road is mostly dirt/gravel the last few miles but hey....your in the mountains, man!

I've visited here several times and always enjoyed it. It is a pleasant walk, not too difficult, and the falls are quite nice. Friends and family have enjoyed it.
