This was an easy hike for families. Only a mile from the parking to the top of the falls. We even took my dog on her 1st hike. The whole family loved it. My son waded in the COLD water and hopped from rock to rock. At the bottom of the trail we skipped rocks and just enjoyed the peaceful... More

I want to preface this by saying that I've hiked in various places and I don't mind mountainous drives but this drive was not only long but the last 5 miles was in all gravel. If you have a truck or a jeep, you'll be fine and sail on through this drive but our two cars had to inch through... More

It's a long drive, short hike through a wide/clear path(shady the whole way), but the waterfall is really nice and the cool air coming off is great. Been to too many waterfalls that were terrible to get to with no pay off. This one is worth it.

Great small hike for the kids. They thought it was cool to be on the Appalachian trail and to climb to the top of the falls. It was worth the drive into the mountains.

I titled it "We got lost" because you certainly can miss the trail that leads to Long Creek Falls. My husband and I wanted to take our kids on a hike to see some falls. We had a visitors guide and found one that said "easy hike". I asked my husband to check out trip advisor (which is my job..but... More

We hiked to the falls with a 10, 8, and 1 year old - so anyone who can walk can really pull this hike off! It was a short hike to a very scenic waterfall: great for many kodak moments! The only downfall is how difficult it is to find! There aren't any visible signs leading the parking area and... More

Was very hard to find and limited signs once you get there, however well worth it! Kids had a blast even though they almost gave up on the long hike.

Make sure to get a map at the chamber of commerce. There is NO CELL SERVICE where you are going! Make sure you have good tires. Make sure you don't get car sick.....you drive 13.5 miles down one curvy road then about 5 miles on another curvy road and then the real fun begins...5.3 miles on an unpaved, curvy forest... More

At our family reunion in Blue Ridge we decided to take the Long Creek Falls hike - at only a little over a mile it was well marked, the trail was easy to walk on and once there the Falls were pretty cool. We loved getting in the cold water after the hot hike. Young and old enjoyed themselves.

Easy walk and never crowded. Stop by the Chamber in Blue Ridge and pick up a driving map for self guided trips.
