Brasstown Bald Mountain is a National Park. We have been to the Mountain about 6 times in the past 2 years, Thank goodness they have shuttles to take you to the top of the Mountain. The history, museum, and Movie of the chaning seasons is well done. Recently we took our Grandchildren and were temporarily stuck in a rain storm.... More

This place has a fantastic view!! Really cool!! Well, except when the day is HOT. Speaking of, be sure you check the weather, clouds can impede the view. Also, be aware that the hike up from the visitor parking is a doozy - or you can take the shuttle...

A place where you can catch the first snows of the season for the Georgia Mountains, feel the last grip of winter on the state's springs, and the ever changing but timeless beauty of the Appalachians. Also a great area for hiking.

I grew up near here and love going here every time I come back to visit! It is absolutely beautiful. It is a nice walk from the parking lot to the top. It is a must see if you love the beauty of the mountains.

I go up to Brasstown Bald Mountain a few times a year by car and I even hiked it this year from the Trackrock Archeological big rock. The museum is old but still very interesting. They have a short movie which is also old but still very interesting. The observatory deck is the best ....you can see for hundreds of... More

We had a great time hiking up Brasstown Bald Mountain. From the top we could see 4 different states and the view was breathtaking. The information center at the top was fabulous. Lots of hands on activities and interesting facts. My boys, ages 9 and 6, loved walking onto the train. You can also watch an informational movie about the... More

You can't visit the Hiawassee or Blairsville area without going to Brasstown Bald Mountain! Georgia's highest mountain. For the more able, you can walk/hike up the paved winding path from the parking area (1/2 mile), which is pretty steep, but is full of switchbacks and has several benches along the way, or you can ridge the shuttle to the top.... You can visit the top by walking or taking the shuttle van. There is a great view and a very interesting museum at the top with some unique displays including history of the area. There is also a short movie. Definitely worth the trip.
