We stayed in the Blairsville area. We visited in mid Sept. The area was not crowded. One of our side trips was to Brasstown Bald Mountain. Upon arriving you could either hike the last .8 of a mile or take the van to the top for $2. My wife and I walked the pave trail to the top. It took... More

On a clear day they say you can see the tall building in Atlanta and into the surrounding four states. The day we made it to the top you couldn't see quite that far, but the clouds were dissipating enough to see into the small towns down below us, and the mountain vistas in the distance. It was well worth... More

Truly enjoyed the visit. Sat in a rocking chair & watched the clouds form & dissipate. Film was interesting. Bought a cute little bear in the gift shop. All the people are very friendly. We have a senior passport for national parks, so we only paid $2.00 for the van ride to the top. We were even able to take... More

Not that we had a clear day. Enjoyed talking to the park employees and found out that the weather there is actually typical of Massachusetts because of their elevation. They sit roughly 2000 feet above the surrounding area and is the highest mountain in Georgia. Would be spectacular view when clear. Best time is when the weather below is cooler... More

I have visited the top during both the fall and the summer and both times afforded stunning views in every direction. It costs $5 to park and from the main parking lot you can walk up a steep paved trail just over a half mile to get to the observation deck, or take the shuttle (which is at no extra... More

It was cloudy and windy the day we visited so we took pictures during brief breaks in the clouds. It was worth it.

6/10ths of a mile up paved trails, with benches placed every so often. I'm not in the best of shape, and found myself out of breath most of the way up. But it's worth it when you reach the top! Great mountain views in every direction, even on a cloudy day. And the people are so happy and friendly, we... More

Although anytime seems to be a great time to experience all the wonder and beauty that is Brasstown Bald, I especially love it in the autumn for the spectacular views of the many colors of trees of reds, yellows, oranges, and browns against the backdrop of the grays and blues of the horizon. And for those that have fitness in... More

It's a quick hike to the top from the parking lot. The views are amazing especially when all the trees change colors in the fall!

Had a wonderful time and timed the rain perfectly! We hiked up to the top. Great views. Sat on front porch w/ a sandwich when it began to rain and had a great conversation with the employee in the shop. Staff was helpful and nice and really enjoyed just being there.
