They half mile walk is grueling if the tram isn't running but it is so well worth the time. When my wife and I reached the top it was memorizing. The quiet was incredible, the view was incredible.....should I go on. This is our 7th visit to the area and I'm not sure how we've missed this. I would put... More

A must do day-trip for anybody from Atlanta. For the enthusiastic ones, I would highly recommend the short trek up from the parking lot to the Observation Tower. Views are amazing. Make sure you find the geo-marker designating the highest spot in the state of Georgia.

Enjoyed the Welcome Center and very friendly and informative. We did not go up to the Observation tower, tram was not working and I am handicap to walk the asphalt trail. We come back after calling to see if Tram is working. View was spectacular from the parking lot... Will diffidently come back..

Travel up the mountain via a van and tour the museum inside. There is an old lcomotive. the kids will love it. Lots of pictures and artifacts and interesting articles about the surrounding area. There is a 360 viewing platform for us to walk on and enjoy the breathtaking views. If you are a hiker, you can hike down the... More

A pet friendly, family walk. We enjoyed hiking to the lookout. SO many breathtaking views. Maps on all corners of the lookout tower that show you which direction other mountains and states are. We took our dog with us. They also have a van that can shuttle you to the top if you are disabled.

This is a National Forrest Service attraction. A parking fee is required unless you have a All Access Park Pass. Nice pick nick area at the bottom and awesome views at the top. If you are driving up from in Atlanta. Spring and Fall it will probably be 20 degrees cooler at the top, come prepared.

This is the highest spot in the State of Georgia. The hike from the parking lot to the viewing area is quite a work out so if you are in a wheel chair or have young children with you bear this in mind. There is a shuttle if you are not in a hiking mood. The view is fantastic. I... More

The family had never visited Brasstown Bald before, so on this really cold and windy but clear day, we decided to brave it. We're glad we did. The views were Amazing. There were no bathrooms available, since they shut off the water due to the freezing tempatures, however we didn't have to pay the $3 per person either. No employees... More

About two hours from midtown Atlanta in the NE part of the state, you can have postcard level views of the national forests in three states. Even the tall buildings in downtown Atlanta can be seen in a clear day. Beautifully maintained by the Park Service, you can hike to the top of the mountain on a manicured trail or... More
