One of a kind; well worth it!

I believe this is the largest model railroad in the country and it was built by a father-son team, originally with no thought to share with the public. This is one of the greatest... read more

After reading some others comments, should have stuck with the gut and saved the trip. Arrived at about 1:40 Says they open at 1:30 on one site and 2 pm on another. Sing on door says Wednesdays they open at 1:30 One car in parking lot with rear doors open. No one around. Went inside, no one around. Doors to... More

I had read the reviees before trying to go here during our family trip. I made sure to call before the trip and no response. I saw that many people gave it excellent reviews and thought to try my luck following the strict guidelines on the website...but to no avail. We tried on separate days and times but we never... I believe this is the largest model railroad in the country and it was built by a father-son team, originally with no thought to share with the public. This is one of the greatest attractions around. There is a $5 charge for adults and kids are free. A little history is given, then you are free to spend as long... More

We were awed by the model railroads attention to detail in showing historical buildings and sites of Georgia. Great experience for the whole family. The kids were even impressed!

If you have children, this is a great place to visit. Model trains always seem to bring out the awe and wonderment and children.

I was fortunate to first visit when the builder was still alive and get firsthand background on this wonderful place. He was around 80 and passed away a couple of years ago. It is currently operated by his daughter in law who does a decent job, but it is a part time thing. It is not a labor of love... More

Would be a great family destination if the owner would actually open the doors when the website says it will open. If you live any more than 10 minutes away from this place, I suggest you do not go. Because you will end up like my family, driving from over an hour away only to find out that she went... More

We took our kids to Misty Mountain Model Railroad not expecting a great deal, however this little gem blew our expectations away. 15 years in the making, a few family members brought to life their dreams and imaginations in a model train world. Each tiny world scene is handmade and created with lights, scenery, buildings, and tiny figures to let... More

We have been there several times and every time back we see something we missed on another visit. This is a great place for YOUNG and OLD. This gentleman loved trains and you can see it in this display. I think they can run 8 trains at a time. Some much detail went into making this model railroad. There is... More

It is very well organized with a short lecture of what you will see. Time is spent looking at a room filled with a collection of different trains from all over the country. You are then ushered out of the building into a home housing the diorama of the Northern Georgia Region as well as the State Capital Building in Atlanta...
