On a rainy Saturday night went to see one of the movies. Such a neat place! 100% worth visiting for the ambiance alone. Gets pretty busy

There are 5 theatres showing newly released movies. Nice little museum to browse, good snack bar. The parking lot is unique with parking among the trees, spots tucked into every available space and 'speed bumps' to keep it slow going. Love this place and each theatre has its own interesting décor.

I love the Highlands theatre. With 5 theatres seating about 50 people in each theatre in comfy seats, an excellent selection of current movies, matinees every tues- thurs, its a perfect break from the cottage on a rainy day. There are the usual popcorn, treats etc for sale, but bring enough cash for tickets and snacks as they do not... More

Brilliant use of space to display movie artifacts. 1 part theatre, 2 parts museum. Cash only. Small theatre seats. Fun night out!

We have never been but had heard about this cinema for years. It is a very cool building with amazing displays though out It brings back found memories of childhood. The theatres are quaint and tastefully done from the 70s. Seats are squeaky but very comfortable. Young staff at the candy bar were in good spirits. If you are 50... More

We have been coming up to our cottage in the Kawartha region for my entire life and I have never been to the Highlands Cinema. This week, after days and days of rain we took our kids to see a movie. Apparently, we were among every cottager known to cottage country with the same idea! Though we didn't get into... More

very unique. The best place in the area to catch new first run movies.cost is less than in the big cities. Parking is on three tiers carved out of the bush so it can take a while to leave after the show. I think 4 theatres? Each with different movie. Good snack bar. The building is jammed with old movie... More

Wonderful movie experience! Took us back in time! Be sure to allow plenty of time because the theater is also a museum of movie paraphernalia going back to the 20's. Your movie ticket includes the museum. An amazing collection. There is a full concession stand. Absolutely a must see if you are in the area, and it is worth the... More

For me, this theater has the best pop-corn I have the pleasure to enjoy at any time, anyplace. On top of that, they have first-run movies at the same time as anywhere in the city, for a cheaper ticket and the opportunity to sit in a theater with character. I welcome a rainy day at the cottage if it means... More
