Upon arrival, you are greeted by Dave, an early museum member and dosen. An introduction to the museum is made, an offer for a personal tour is extended. The exhibits of railroad memorabilia are extensive, and very clearly come from passionate private collections. There is an incredible variety packed in a relatively small space (the old depot), and I was... More

The old downtown of Winter Garden is wonderful for strolling in, and this museum (it's free, donations welcome) is a must-see. A volunteer, former teacher, gave us a 45-minute guided tour. He was so very knowledgeable, so kind, one of the very best storytellers I've ever heard. He had our nine-year-old niece mesmerized, and she has no interest in trains.... More

The railroad museum itself is reason enough to visit Winter Garden; the shops are also quite varied and last Christmas we went to the cinema there to see Alister Sims's Christmas Carol--my wife's favorite version (I prefer George C. Scott's) but Sims does an amazing job as Scrooge.

I was recently in Winter Garden, Florida to visit my brother in law. He has lived in Winter Garden for over ten years, and like most folks who live in an awesome place sometimes they just don't take the time to experience all that us traveling folks can to do. So was the case with this incredible piece of history.... More

A wonderful collection of RR memorabilia. Fun scavenger hunt for children. And be sure and see the cards available for purchase at the entry.

Wow! What a great surprise. A train museum in an old train station. I am amazed at how much train memorabilia they squeezed into a small building. They also have a caboose in the back that you can explore. The volunteers are super friendly and informative. Admission is FREE and so is parking. Donations are appreciated. Hours are 1pm-5pm daily.... More

The volunteers at the museum were the best! The little place was so full of railroad memorabilia and collectibles; it was so fun.

We needed to kill some time since we had to check out of our room early, but had a rather late flight home. Our GPS had this in the Points of Interest or some section, so we decided to check it out. What a great way to spend some time! Not a very big place, but they had so many... More

I'm not overly fond of trains, so I didn't enjoy the museum so much, but railroad enthusiasts will love it. It really has everything Central Florida train related, so if you like trains, you can spend hours in here. For me, it was dull, but my family enjoyed it.

If your a railway buff like me you will love this place, it's small with hundreds of exhibits crammed in to every nook & cranny. Only open during certain hours of the day so check before you visit.
