I got a '2 nights plus 1 day of kayaking' as a Groupon. We reserved this back in March 2014 so when we arrived on Labor Day weekend, we were pleased to find that it was all good. It is a small place to stay (in a good way! Not huge multiples of campers!). There is a one bedroom and... More

Had a good time going through the river. Nice smooth trip down steam. I recommend it for anyone that enjoys nature. Dad and mom take your kids out from their computers and smartphone and show them how nature works.

We rented their one bedroom cabin with a package they advertised that included 2 nights stay and 2 kayak trips for $219. It was a good deal that we took advantage of last week. It was very quiet being the middle of the week! Brian was very helpful and made sure that we were comfortable in the cabin and also... More

Love this place!! Everyone that works here is wonderful and very helpful! This is the best place to go around here... This section of the Manatee is so relaxing. It is nice to be able to take a cooler and stop half way to have your lunch at the parks pavillion. It's screened in so that makes it pretty nice!... More

Thanks for your nice comments and for posting your pictures. I agree that the big screened in picnic pavilion in the park does make for a great lunch stop. We also use it for our moonlight paddle trips meal stop. Thanks for paddling with us. More

This is a great experience for beginners and a relaxing paddle for experts. The staff is very courteous and gives in depth instruction before getting in the kayaks. Rest room and shower facilities are much nicer than expected. Fun for the whole family with no chance of getting lost..if you follow instructions.

The Little Manatee River is truly one of my favorite kayak trips. I have done it several times and I never tire of it. The guys at the Canoe Outpost are so friendly and helpful. They make sure you are securely seated in your kayak, offer you a nice map of the river and mark the spots to visit. After... More

The kayak trip was exhausting, yet very fun (o am not much of a kayaker and am not a super fit person). The absolute best part was the scenery and wildlife! It took us (double kayak) about 3 hours to make it down the river, with a 20 minute stop for lunch and a pretty leisurely pace. We saw many... More

Place is decent as far as kayaking down the river but..... Whatever you do don't stay there overnight. Valentines day we paid to stay in the RV.. made reservations... go there... Went down the river... had fun and drank all day... get back to the office to them telling us there must have been a mix up and we had... More

It saddens us anytime there is a misunderstanding with a customer as we want every visit to the Canoe Outpost to be an enjoyable one. For those rare times when one does occur, we make every effort to correct it. In this case, we allow for the possibility that there may have been a miscommunication about a reservation date. This... This was the first time my husband and I ever went conoeing, and we had a lot of fun. It was really relaxing. Even for first timers, we handled it well. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to do. I wish we would have pulled over and checked out some of the trails, but that can be for next... More

We visited Canoe Outpost on Little Manatee after Brian said we could take our dog in the canoe with us. Since we were in our 60's and hadn't canoed for many years, Brian suggested to go with the shorter trip first (about 2.5 miles) and if we got through that easy enough then just call from the first pickup point...
