The park located just east of the turnpike is in my opinion the best Parks and Recreation Dept. facility in the county. Why you ask? First, the size of the park is huge away from traffic noise on Forest Hill Blvd. Second, it offers multiple children's playground areas. If one is crowded just drive a little further to the next... I've been going to Okeeheelee Park since it opened. I'm a big fisherman and fished there 100s of times before it got really popular. Caught HUGE bass there in the early years but haven't caught much lately. Tons of activities, huge areas for any type of sport or recreation. Great dog park. Truly fun and beautiful place.

Good place to workout and ride bikes. You can rent bicycles in case of not having one. Good for fishing and just a huge park to go and have fun outside.

Great nature trails. Walks with guides at various times . Ample parking everywhere. Various activities going on. Boating, soccer games , exercise courses, water skiing, baseball fields etc etc. what I love most is that there are hills. It isn't flat and boring. .

you can do it all here. One of the best water ski tournament sites in the nation. 5 lakes all tournament . You do need your own boat, or someone you know that you can ski with. 27 miles of biker paths, many tennis courts, baseball diamonds, etc etc. Beautiful site, owned by city.

Okeeheelee Park is a beautiful and popular park for everyone. It holds a HUGE dog park with a place to wash your pet once he or she has finished playing. There is plenty of playground equipment for the kids, paddle boats for the lake, lots of pavillons to rent or use if no one has rented them. There are plenty... More
