The boardwalk is well maintained. I loved the wooden rocking chairs placed around the trail. Very child and stroller friendly. We saw white ibis, cranes as well as a baby gator.

Apoxee (pronounced "a-po-ee) is one of those great little finds--it goes through a restored wetland hammock and pine flatlands in the western part of West Palm Beach. The entrance is on the west side of Jog Road, about one mile north of Okeechobeee Blvd. There is a parking area near the entrance, then a number of trails to walk.. There... More

Was very excited for this walk. I wouldn't call it a hike because it is very flat. About 20 yards down the trail and we couldn't go any further. I mean maybe if you had knee high boots on and don't mind possibly getting killed by a gator. Super flooded like half foot of murky palmy water as far as... More

We actually have been going there for the past 8 years. great wildlife to see. we have see otters, Florida panther, dear and hogs. plenty of bird life to be observed. plenty of trails that go for miles, make sure you bring plenty to hydrate yourself with.

There is so much to see and to suite whatever your photography preference! There are great open expanses for wide angle and fisheye along with birds, snakes, etc. to catch with a telephoto. I played around with HDR on the open areas to catch the reflections of trees and clouds on the water and they came out amazing! This place... More

I kept asking myself, “Why am I here?” as I sweated my way along a muddy path. In my case, I blame Nick. He's actually a top-notch, personal trainer who comes to his client and provides a customized fitness program. I suppose he knew that I needed a cardio workout, and that I get bored easily. Hence, our expedition through... More

This is a great place to hike and explore. Located in urban Palm Beach this oasis is a welcomed relief to all the noise of city life. Hiking trails vary in size here, and many lead to great wildlife, and watering holes. The only bad thing about this park is that it does not drain well. Making flooding a problem... More

First visit to Apoxee Park (pronounced 'Ah-po-ee') as a tourist and enjoyed it. There is a short paved trail (Butterfly Orchid Trail) mostly shaded that would be ideal for small children, strollers or wheelchairs. Aptly named, we did see a few different butterflies. The longer and more "rustic" trail is the Apoxee Trail. This is a 2.5 mile trail (not... More

I was told about this great mountain bike trail area. Truly be ready for "sugar sand, roots, muddy puddles, gravel and BEAUTY". If you don't want to bike then there is a great nature trek with two routes to choose from. Some bridges, mostly natural paths, NOT for young children as one needs to "stay on the path" we are...
