Great riding and hiking trails! You can spend a short amount of time there or all day. Some trails will flood after a strong rain but it's nature in its raw form. I often ride the trails that start at the entrance/exit of the park and get to see gators, turtles, and an abundance of other animals!

Beautiful nature trail in the middle of the city. I went the day after it rained and some of the trail was flooded but it was still a nice walk. We didn't see any alligators but we did see a bunch of lizards.

My husband & I love outdoors and after a couple of days of scuba diving, we were up for a change of scenery. The Apoxee wilderness fit the bill. Being from the desert, we enjoyed the easy trails and did not mind the ankle deep water as we had come prepared. The serenity of the area and the lush vegetation... More

I made the mistake of going after several days after strong rain, and needless to say, it was rather muddy and the water around was quite high. I saw lots of different birds as well as a black snake (not sure which kind). The trail seems to be a beautiful and peaceful place to walk but unfortunately Mother Nature had... More

First off be prepared to be hot at times, wet at times, and amazed all the time. Only trail I have been to that allows you to hike through actual natural wetlands and pine hammock together. The trails are rugged at times but clearly cut through, do not leave the trails. Bring water, bug repellent, and sun screen. The Apoxee... More

Great place that you would never expect to be right off Jog Rd in the heart of West Palm Beach. I take a break from work here and I always see something new between wildlife or scenery. Very peaceful and beautiful slice of south Florida. Check for the gators right near the first bridge on the left.

Let me start off with the positives... There is A LOT of wild life and some pretty cool scenery so there is no shortage of things to look at. If you were like me and were starting to wonder where all the gators are....well I would say most of them are on this trail and the rest are in loxahatchee... More

This place is definitely a rare Florida gem, a raw bit of South Florida nature at it's best! Right here in West Palm Beach! A few things you WILL need: bug spray, sunscreen, a good attitude about nature and waders! Some of the rustic trail is covered by some water, even in the dry season. There is a paved path... More

Thanks to the earlier reviews, we were prepared to wade through water and had much fun while doing it. The park is large and the trail is diverse. There is never a moment a dull moment. The signs describing the flora and fauna are old and faded, so it is an effort to read but it's hardly an issue for... More

My husband and I love wildlife and hiking and took the Apoxee nature trail after reading glowing reviews on trip advisor. As many have noted, the trails are very poorly marked. Also, we found ourselves seriously ankle deep in swamp water and mud several times along the trail. After a while, we just laughed and said to each other, let's... More
