I didn't have a whole lot of expectations going into this trip. I think I'd been when I was in school and it was still called the Dreher Park Zoo. I think I've gotten used to places like Disney's Animal Kingdom and Busch Gardens. This doesn't compare to those at all, but it's also a fraction of the cost. The... More

Thank you for your honest review, and we are glad to hear you enjoyed the Butterfly Garden (which is lovingly maintained by Zoo volunteers). We are sorry that you felt a little disappointed comparing what we offer to larger facilities, and we also would like to know what you didn't see when you wrote this: "some of the things they... We picked this place to go with my 3 year old daughter while on vacation from the UK. The flora and fauna in this zoo is stunning. The exhibits seem to be laid out around the trees so it looked very natural. The animals on display were varied and quite rare at zoos. Sadly they all seemed to be escaping... More

We are so glad you decided to visit from the UK, and that your daughter enjoyed our Interactive Play Fountain! We appreciate your kind comments about our naturalistic animal habitats and our exhibitory layout. How fun that our two North American black bear brothers, Lewis and Clark, were active during your visit! Thank you for commenting on the high quality... More

This zoo is not for small children. It's great for all ages! My 12 year old grandson loved this zoo. It was cool on a hot day due to trees overhead to shade us. The zoo is designed to separate spots. To keep crowds at bay. We walked in a circle to see the whole zoo. The animals are in... More

What a great review! We agree with you that our zoo is great for the young, AND the young-at-heart! Our shade canopy is very convenient for those sunny South Florida days. We are so glad you were able to spend the day here relaxing and visiting our animals-- we hope you visit again soon! More

The layout of the zoo is in "star" fashion. From the center you reach different animal families and environments. Well done. You can feel as if you were in a gigantic place if you take your time and wander from environment to environment.

My husband, 3 year old daughter and myself visited this zoo on the day we were waiting for our flight to return home from vacation. This was a very nice, smaller zoo and was perfect for us as we only had about 4 hours to spend. We were able to walk the entire zoo within about 3 hours. The staff... More

The zoo is clean and well taken care of. This was our second visit and my kids want to go back next time we're in town. The highlight was the Capybara Experience. This is something that can be pre-arranged on the zoo's website, along with "experiences" with a number of other animals. It was really great. Two staff members educated... More

Some of the other reviewers commented that the zoo was small. We didn't feel that way at all. We felt like the animals had a lot of space to move around and we also learned a lot about the endangered/threatened animals. If you go to the zoo, look at the show times before you go so you can map out... More

I love this zoo, I been to plenty before but nothing compared to this one, what I loved the most it's the fact that they don't have all their animals caged up, it looks like they have a lot of land where the animals are free )sort of ( (: and they don't looks so sad, I know that sounds... More

I love how it's not a huge zoo, but the animals and displays are awesome. Very cool species to see. Very nice dining room and gift shop. Everyone there is very helpful and eager to answer any questions you may have. Very worthwhile.
