Enjoy the subtropical setting as you view the different animal species. Off the beaten path, this quiet setting is a perfect venue to relax with your children, friends, or significant others.

We travel a lot and like zoos wherever we go. We have gone to at least 50 zoos around the US and abroad. We spent 2-3 hours here and found it entertaining. It is not a world class facility and do not have that expectation. The shows are entertaining and there are good specimens here of tigers and albino alligators.

Thank you for visiting, and we are glad you enjoyed your time here-- especially since you are somewhat of a "zoo expert," having visited so many other zoos! More

My wife and I visit zoos wherever we travel. In so doing, we have visited a large number of the best zoos in the U.S. They range from the truly humungous (e.g., San Diego) to the small and rather intimate as is the case here. As some reviewers have complained, it is small zoo with a somewhat limited collection of... More

Thank you so much for the kind words! We are thrilled to hear that, in your estimation, we measure up with some of our country's largest zoos. We like to think that we are "small and mighty"! Many guests, like you, enjoy the lush shading canopy of foliage overhead. That can help keep guests cool in the warmer temperatures of... More

We visited the zoo on a Saturday and were greeted nicely and invited to a story time. We headed over to that area and enjoyed a great carousel with a number of different animals. The splash fountain was also a big hit and many of the animal enclosures were close enought to really get close to see the animals. We... More

We are so glad you enjoyed visiting and especially participating in Story Time at the Zoo! Our Wildlife Carousel, Safari Train and Interactive Play Fountain are popular with children. We are proud that guests are able to get close to our 800 animals, so that they can establish a bond or a connection with wildlife as part of our mission.... More

The only good things is their cause on rescuing animals who couldn't live any longer in captivity. For the rest is missing anything exciting of a zoo, the size is pretty small as well.

Thank you for reviewing us, and for promoting our mission of inspiring people to act on behalf of wildlife. We do participate in dozens of Species Survival Plans, which helps prevent endangered species from going extinct. We are indeed a small zoo, with approximately 800 animals, but we take pride in caring for the animals that call us home. We... More

If your animals pace it is just plain depressing. They pace here a lot. There is s Forrest of koalas (translated into just one) a series of very tired bears and a wallaby which plays hide and seek better than any human. My little son did enjoy the experience though and the kangaroo was a real hit.

Thank you so much for your review, and for expressing your concern about our animals. Our zookeepers provide daily enrichment for every animal that we are privileged to care for, so you can rest assured that they are provided mental, physical and sensory stimulation on a regular basis. The bears are just getting out of their "torpor" state (a mild... More

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by such lovely staff at the front gates. It's roughly $20.00 USD per person to get in, however, you so notice that most of that money goes right back to maintaining all of the pavilions. We saw some really cute animals, feed some birds, got some amazing photos, and really got up... More

People who work there are very friendly and caring. The problem I felt is "WHERE ARE THE ANIMALS"? I along with the other visitors were all looking for the Leopard and Tiger, but couldn't seem to find them. Were they even there? Other animals also seemed to be missing. I hate to give a negative review about a place that... More

Dear Hike2Mountaintop, Thank you so much for your review, and for sharing your concern over not seeing our animals. All of the 800+ animals that we are privileged to care for are wild creatures, and they choose their own schedules according to their preferences. We do not force them to do any actions they do not choose to do, and... More

We loved this zoo. We were there when kids were in school so it was not crowded, just older people and young families. It is well laid out. There are lots of sites to see but no big animals like elephants, giraffes or lions (unless their sites were under construction, I don't remember). There was also a beautiful garden manned... More
