If you have any interest in animals, you have to visit this place when you are in the area, whether you have children or not. Their mission to rescue animals and return as many as possible to the wild is truly admirable. The facility is beautifully run and the animals that are under their care truly look well cared for... Our guide Cassie was just wonderful and it was beautiful to see the bond she had with the animals. It was nice to see such a place exists to care for animals that need humans and to hear the stories of rescue. We also learned a lot about how and why animals bond to certain people. It explains why our... More

Our total walk-through time at McCarthy's came to about 2 hours and there was not a minute of it that I didn't enjoy! Our guide, Manny, was incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and funny. And the animals were just awesome! You can get as close as 4 feet away from the big cats! I definitely recommend visiting McCarthy's with family and/or friends... More

Traveled to McCarthy's after reading many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. Arrived rather early, but relaxed in front area near the fountain. Sanctuary was very easy to find; used a navigation system and arrived without issue. Staff at check in was very pleasant and informative, and provided detailed information on what to expect during the tour.... More

How did we miss going here before? Groups of 20 (reservations required) are walked through surroundings of birds, tigers, snakes, foxes, pelicans, owls, large cats - to name a few of the 170 permanent residents of this sanctuary. Many of the animals have been rescued due to neglect, abuse or illegal possession. The grounds are spotless, the tour guides are... More

This is a great hour and a half tour, with very knowledgeable guides, explaining their animals, how they received them, their personalities, etc. All of the big cats, lots of other interesting animals and the stories are quite interesting...I highly recommend for any kids over 5 (required by the sanctuary) and big kids (as in adults). I've been twice now... More

Bree was our tour guide. She was absolutely delightful and very knowledgeable. We were able to see the animals up close, watch her interact with many of them and even got to interact with some of them ourselves. The tour was very worthwhile and a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting South Florida to come and visit.... More

This is a must see!! I have never been to a zoo that has been as well maintained and so clean. The animals are amazing. You can see the mutual love and respect between the animals and the caretakers. Our tour guide was Kara who was very informative and knew how to deal with many little kids. There is not... More
