Kara was an excellent tour guide. We learned all about each animal we visited including their personal history, personality, likes and dislikes. She brought many of the birds and smaller animals out of their cages and we got to hold or pet some of them! My favorites were the white Bengal tiger, the liger and the kinkajou! It was clear... We took our grandson who was 14 at the time and later took visitors from out of state. Great facility...they rescue these animals and the place was spotless. Our group was very small...7 of us and the guide was so full of information. She took time to answer the questions from the kids and the adults. Great place!!

The jungle animals are obviously valued and well cared for by the knowledgeable staff . The tours demonstrate behavior in interesting ways.be sure to see the tigers and don't turn your back and the grouchy black panther .

We got close to all the animals. I would recommend it. I want to... More

We are zoo goers and love to go to the different zoos in the cities we visit. We decided to try McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary. It was wonderful! You get to get really close to some of the animals and hold some of them too. We were so close to one of the tigers that he ended up spraying some of... More

The sanctuary was a wonderful tour! It was great to know there are places like this for neglected or animals that can no longer be cared for in their original home. The stories during the tour were fantastic and Ashlyn was a fantastic tour guide. We will be back again!

Visited April 1st, 2014. The animals are all very well taken care of and very happy and healthy. Extremely clean! Our tour guide Ashlyn was amazing! Speaks very highly of the owners and how much she loves her job. Wonderful place to visit. Every animal has a story of how it came to the sanctuary.

This place is amazing! I'm not sure who enjoyed it the most...my 13 year old daughter or the 3 other adults in my group! Ana, our tour guide was very well versed on all the animals, and it was very clear how much she loves her job and the animals she helps to take care of at the sanctuary! This... More
