Owner description: Captain Steve Hayes is the only Certified Florida Master Naturalist in the marsh that provides the most educational, exciting, humorous, and informative tour of the pristine headwaters of the St. John's River. On a one hour tour, you will see, and learn about the alligators, birds and flowers of the marsh, experience an exciting airboat ride thru the marsh, hear some stories that may bring a chuckle, or two, and I will bring you back safely. This is a great experience for all ages. Many that have been on this tour and have taken airboat tours around the state, and elsewhere, say that this is at the top of the list. Bring a camera and let's create some memories!!!

Never experienced an air boat ride before and it will not be my last. Very informative and calls the marsh his office, what a great way to look at this area. Flowers, gators turtles, nests Osprey, Herons, baby gators & ducks just loved it.

We have gone out with CAPT Steve three times now and it just keeps getting better. When we called to set up our tour, he recommended the 7:30 AM trip. We saw more gators than we had on our previous trips combined and that was in the first 5 minutes. If you are in the Vero Beach, Sebastian area you... More

Strumpknocker tours is the granddaddy of them all. The owner is a certified master naturalist and he knows his stuff. Whether its explanations about the plant life in the Blue Cyupress Conservation Area, or seeing gators up close and personnel ,as they swim close to the boat, this is a tour that the whole family will enjoy. The marsh seems... More

The tour was great - the guide is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the area. It's amazing just how much you get to see in the hour. Well worth a trip.

This is one adventure for family and friends you don't want to miss! My husband and I have enjoyed taking our three sons and their families many times! Capt. Steve is an excellent certified naturalist - informative and helpful! Air boat is A+++! Variety of alligators, nests, birds etc. he shows is unsurpassed. In a few words: excellence at its... More

Captain Steve Hayes' Stumpknocker Tour is fantastic! When we contacted him to schedule a tour, he recommended an early morning tour--7AM to be exact. Now I'm not an early morning person, but I'm sssooooo glad we decided to do it. As Capt Steve said, at that time of day, we saw lots and lots of gators and birds, there were... More

This was the first time I had been on an air boat and it was one of the neatest things I've done. Our guide knew so much about the birds and animals and plants. The tour was an hour long and he has a set schedule, so if you are late, you miss the boat. I appreciate that he didn't... More

Having participated in similarly described "excursions" in the past with mixed results we were a bit hesitant to once again hop aboard an airboat. Well, were we in for a surprise. The action and fun were non stop from the moment we hit the water. Talk about being "up close and personal" with alligators, to say nothing of the various... More

This tour was the highlight of our vacation! Captain Steve was amazing! He was funny and incredibly knowledgeable. We got to see some of everything. There was so much wildlife: we saw alligators, marsh birds, we went through a rookery that was teaming with baby birds of all kinds. He's great about making sure everyone has enough time to take... Drove out into the middle of no where for my first airboat tour and I'm glad I did! Captain Steve was on time, the boat was clean and everything went better than expected. After donning inflatable life jackets, (and a pink life jacket for my 4 year old daughter), we boarded the boat and donned aircraft headsets so we could talk....
