This is a quiet beach with free parking. The sand is a bit rough and there's a fair amount of ground up shell in it. It's known as an area where shark's teeth wash up and people go there to find them (you can of course also swim). Just look closely in the sand for the teeth (black fossilized) and... More

I really hate to say this as I love Venice but the Venice beach is not as nice as other local beaches. The sand seems course and sort of gray compared to Manasota Beach. The beach area is limited and has a drop off. I would still go to watch sunsets or sit and read for a bit. Walking the... More

This beach is very steep and not very good for walking. Try Nokomis beach a little father north or Manasota beach a few miles south.

Our first time on the west coast of Florida. We underestimated the vastness of the Gulf of Mexico. The water was jade green with gently lapping waves. The beach was beautiful with sugary white sand. If you've never experienced the west coast of Florida, it's worth a trip. Many lovely beaches and keys just off the coastline.

What a great city Venice is. Beautiful and on the Gulf Coast. This beach offers clear unobstructed views of sunsets some of which are amazing. Sometimes you can spot Dolphins swimming and Stingrays. Clear water with little waves. A great place to spend time at even in the winter.

This beach was great! I was there over Thanksgiving holiday and it was quiet, not a ton of people everywhere, which I like. The beach is sand, but there is a TON of shells and things on the beach so it can feel a little rough on the feet but great for exfoliating! haha. One of the best parts was... More

Always come back to Venice Beaches. Just love how clean and quite they are. Just beautiful. I will soon buy a home in Venice so I can enjoy this every day.

I have wanted to visit Venice Beach for many years and it was just as great as I thought it would be! The beach is beautiful and so clean!! I was so excited to find fossilized sharks teeth, a piece of sting ray barb and a piece of coral - and that was just in a few hours. I cannot... More

Everyone in Sarasota County will tell you Siesta Key is the best beach on the Florida Gulf Coast. Well, if you're into a loud, drunken, Daytona-beach like atmosphere, then Siesta Key is for you. But if you'd like a quieter, more peaceful environment, then Venice beach is your calling. Impeccably clean and quiet, Venice beach is for those of us... More

This is a nice beach with clean water and you can walk for a long stretch. It has a pier where you can fish and walk on. There is also a restaurant and bar where you can get something to eat and drink. There is also plenty of free parking.
