Excellent recreational paved pathway running from the Venice Train Depot to the beach . Scenic pathways bracket the intracoastal with plenty of boat traffic and people-watching opportunities. Saw gopher tortoises in both of our recent visits. Do not miss this fabulous spot.

We parked at the old train depot and headed south to the Circus bridge where we crossed the canal and continued south to Caspersen Beach. On the return, we followed the path along the west side of the waterway to the north end and returned back across the Circus Bridge and to the car. There is very little shade along... More

My wife and I are accustomed to walking 4 miles daily and were surprised to discover the Waterway Park. We visited it almost every day and got to walk as far as we wanted. What a view! There are plenty of benches to satisfy those that need to take time out and the walkway is wide enough to handle walkers,... More

This wide concrete pathway along both sides of the Inland Coastal Waterway is absolutely the best walking/biking facility along the Gulf coast! The scenery is terrific, the conditions are smooth and safe and it connects with other major destinations/attractions such as Shamrock Park on the south east end (and from there cyclists can follow the painted fish to Manasota Key),... Beautiful area with well marked trails. Very nice for walking and biking. Trail is measured. Watch for the little animal prints in concrete at the beginning of the trail.

Nice addition to the south which connects directly to the Legacy Trail. The path is very easy to manage and you actually go under two of the bridges that connect the island to the main land. Great day of exercise after eating all that turkey! Get out and get some sunshine!

Last year we cycled this and did a circular route. This year we walked some of it on a very hot day. Be sure to take plenty of water with you. Flat wide path with enough room for walkers and cyclists. Wearied the car at the waterway edge - go all the way to the end of Airport Avenue, alongside... More

If you are in Venice, FL try this bike path to Caspersen Beach, or the Legacy Trail to Sarasota. Well maintained path with great vistas and a long open beach connecting with Manasota Key awaits you. At the end of your day, pick one of the many fine restaurants on Venice Ave.

We enjoyed a nice bike ride starting at the north trailhead and heading down along the Intracoastal Waterway to Casperson Park and the Gulf. It's basically a double wide concrete sidewalk but there are no streets to cross so a very relaxing ride. You need to keep your eye on the red/black arrows marking the trail or a couple of... More

Waterway park is a free concrete walk that takes you alongside the Intercostal walkway. You will share this small walkway with pet owners and bicyclers, as well as, parents with strollers. Last time I walked there I was followed by a manatee who would come out of the water and look at me every so many feet.
