We are travelling in Florida with our dog for several weeks. It is sometimes challenging to find places where dogs are welcome. Boy are towns and businesses missing the boat. I have never met more responsible and wonderful people than dog owners. There is an enclosed dog area but the real attraction is the beach. there is a fairly short... More

This beach is one for the serious pet lover. It’s the only beach in the area that is pet-friendly. Not only can your dog roam free, but there are also doggie showers and drinking fountains. There is also a pier with restroom, and a snack and bait shop, and the area has parking and a picnic area. The park is... More

The park itself is typical for a Florida dog park. Fenced off areas, one for big dogs and the other for small ones. What makes this park rise above the rest is beyond the back gate of the large dog area. That is the path down to the beach. Yes, Fido can run and play off leash up and down... More

We bring our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever here every day during an annual two-week camping trip. What a treat. Some days there are close to a hundred dogs, some days less than a dozen. Most are well-behaved, although as noted in other reviews, we do wish that some owners would watch their dogs more carefully. Our dog loves to... More

Brought our newf here while visiting Sarasota. Found out about it on Bringfido.com. What a blast! Double fenced entrance to small park like area which is great and helps you feel a lot more secure. Then through another double fence to path and boardwalk to beach. Went on a Sunday and beach was crazy, had to be 100 or more... More

If you are in the area and have your 4 legged child, then Brohard Paw park and beach are a must do. The place is well maintained and people are very friendly. Our Border Collie had a blast playing in the park and sand. This is one of the few places you can take you dog and let them romp... More

This is a great beach. The dogs and their people can all have a great time together. Some reviews we saw said it was a long way to the beach from the car. These people must not get out much. Beach area is small but there is still enough room to spread out even on super crowded days. Beach was... More

Clean and easily accessible. Needs to be bigger. Thi is the only "dog legal" beach in Sarasota county.

If you are a dog lover, go to this off-the-leash beach. Take your dog or just go and enjoy the other dogs. It is a great beach for people too.

people there need to keep track of their dogs not a social event for people. there would be less issues with the dogs if owners watched their dogs.
