My wife and I stay near Sarasota, Florida, every winter. We have two dogs who are quite fond of surf and sand. To our pleasant surprise we discovered Brossard Paw Park in nearby Venice. It is a physically small dog beach, but large enough to allow dozens of dogs to peacefully mingle, play and romp. Plus it affords the humans... More

Dog beach? Yes, Venice Florida has a real live dog beach and it is a winner. The dog beach is one of the few in the state and the dogs love it. They can be off leash and run, play, swim and retrieve to their heart's content. It is clean (because decent people clean up after their pet) and the... More

We drove from Minnesota to Sarasota to visit family, and brought our black lab Sophie. Then we found out about the Brohard Paw Park and Beach! What a great experience for all of us! We walked and played in the water, and our dog loved every minute of it. We observed respectful dog owners, so there was no problem among... More

Loved the dog beach! Great facility and area. Thank you town of Venice for having a beach we can take our dog to. We really appreciate it.

Super beach for the dogs to play unleashed. Our first time there and my 2 Jack Russells loved it. You walk through a fenced dog park first and then it's a short walk to the beach where there's MANY dogs walking with their owners, laying in the sand or running unleashed. There's dogs of all sizes, but we didn't see... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our day at the dog beach. Literally hundreds of dogs, unleased - all playing together, socializing and swimming. No dog fights! Just a pleasant afternoon of sun and pets! Highly recommended!

Really nice to be able to bring your dog to the beach - even if the area is very small. Still, enjoyed it. The dog park is ok. A little on the small side but it is cared for with lots of poo bags and, more importantly, LOTS of shade and fresh water for the doggies. Crowded even on weekdays... More

We took our Shih Tzu to this beach in the late morning. I for the most part kept her on a leash as I was concerned with a few of the large dogs. We were there about a half hour when a couple with muzzled pit bull sat next to us and removed the dog's muzzle. I moved over to... More

Tight parking (our visitors got a ticket) but owners and dogs are friendly and tidy (about doggy deposits); great ocean views and shallow enough for doggy swimming
