After two days of diving we decided to look at other sites around Key Largo. We visited the bird sanctuary and found it to be a great place to walk through and see a variety of wild birds up close. This is definitely a worthwhile stop and very educational if you have children. A peaceful stroll. $5 donation definitely worth...

All the reviews are dead on. You won't be "entertained" - but if you like nature and wildlife check it out. They're doing a great thing, get to see a bunch of birds, and give them a donation to help out. They ask for 5 bucks a head, which when you think how much they're doing it makes plenty of...

At times the smell is over whelming but besides that it's a great little trail. I go a couple times a year and its great for tourists on a budget. It's a "why not", it cost pretty much nothing, just a small donation.

You must visit this rehabilitation center, it is so uplifting. There are no tours, it is more of a free-style-walk-yourself through the bird habitats. Most of the birds are kept contained in large areas, but there are many birds that roam freely throughout the place. A boardwalk allows you to view each habitat with the bird in it, but beware...

A great cause, but desperately in need of donations! Please visit and support this cause!

Yes, this rehabilitation center is very light on visitor amenities and its non-profit shoestring budget shows. But, they also don't charge you admission and operate on donations with the focus remaining on the birds. We thoroughly enjoyed walking among and watching the birds for an hour or two. It has a nice setting, shade, close-up time with many birds, and...

I love this place because they care for injured birds and as a bonus it is FREE (donations accepted of course) always a huge number of birds around in the pens but be sure and make the trip out to their lagoon to spy healthy birds too. Usually a flock of pelicans at the bay but continue on to the...

Volunteer run bird rehab center. Has nice boardwalks through the mangroves and quite a few 'boarders'. Great place to spend a couple of hours with kids or when it's blowing to hard to fish.

An interesting place for very close contact with some of Florida's native birds. A bit more run down than I remember it being in the past, but is run on donations so be sure to contribute if you stop. I happen to love Pelicans so I enjoyed it a bit more than my son and husband.
