Educational tour

This was an enjoyable boat tour. I didn't know about the different sea sponges and these were explained clearly, with humor. I was amazed by the diving suit. Great value.

Fun, short boat ride. Learned about the 5 different kinds of sponges they are allowed to harvest. It seems like hard work!! They crew was great!

Max Jr was the diver on this tour. He was great, I mean awesome. My wife and I took our daughter and 2 grandsons, Max was talking to us before we started, he was taking pictures with anyone who wanted them but, he actually called our oldest grandson up front and put the diving helmet on him, he was so... Took the grandkids on this little adventure---they enjoyed the short ride and watching the sponge diver go over board. They kept their eyes on the bubbles until he came to the surface with a sponge. Those adults on board got a glimpse of the sponge industry thanks to a short lecture on the history of the industry and specifically Tarpon... More

The boat does not go very far out which was great for those who might have an issue with motion sickness. Captain was very informative and had a great sense of humor.

I've been on this boat tour before about 5 years ago, it was exactly the same. It was cute for kiss as they give you the history of the sponge docks and have a diver who gears up and goes overboard and finds a sponge. Boat doesn't go out very far and honestly, the diver didn't seem to be too... More

We had a wonderful time in Tarpon Springs. A great boat ride and experience for the kids to see someone in the original Greek diving suits go down and get a sponge. The crew was EXCELLENT! It was Max's first day diving and he was great with the kids. Definetly the Boat to ride if you want to take in... More

While visiting Tarpon Springs, took a side adventure boat ride on the Anclote River to see how sponge diving is accomplished. What your paying $10 pp for is a short boat ride, introduction and informative talk, by the Captain, on sponge diving, and a live demonstration, by a hard hat diver, on diving for sponges. It's fun, informative, cheap, and... More

Cost about $30 to take the family on a very short boat ride away from the docks (not into the gulf, nor anywhere even close) to watch a diver go overboard in an old timey diving suit. The diver was friendly and informative, it was a neat demonstration, and I'm glad to have done it...but I don't think we'll do... More
