You can easily spend an hour or two in this park. The kids love the boardwalk. It's great to watch different kinds of birds. You can see alligators, Kayak in the river, but the best part I love it having lunch at the end of the boardwalk, just listening to nature

A wonderful park to spend a few hours. Trails, playground, information center, guided tours on weekends. Best of all a handicap accessible boardwalk built over water enabling marvelous views of surrounding area with wildlife, trees and plants. On lucky days an assortment of birds, turtles, sometimes alligators. The lighting and reflection in the water are just beautiful. We spent several... More

Found this park when I was out running while staying at the Residence Inn down the street. The cost in December is $2 per car for entrance if you drive in. There is a boardwalk that goes out over Lettuce Lake with viewing areas with benches, informational boards, and viewing platforms. The park offers kayak and canoe rental. Bathrooms facilities... I discovered the park when I was looking for a place to sit, relax and write. Perfect. It is beautiful and quiet and well maintained, the only thing it didn't have was a wifi signal but that is OK

Such a nice day for a walk in the park. This park has a board walk raised above the water plus a tower. You can see a myriad of wildlife....today we saw birds, squirrels, fish, and an alligator. It is friendly to all types and athletic abilities.

I have been to this park more times than I can count. When my children were young this was THE place to go and let them roam, wander and have fun. The boardwalk is still fun after two decades of going. And the views from the tower are awesome. This shows the real Florida (hint...it ain't the Mouse House!). You... More

Close to major roadways and civilization, yet so very private to enjoy Florida wildlife not in a zoo like atmosphere. Climb the tower to better observe the birds, fish and alligators. Well maintained paths for hiking or bicycle rides.

This place is awesome. Such a fun and quick little getaway from what I thought I knew about Tampa. All sorts of wildlife and really great foliage. We even saw three gators!
