Description: The Straz Center began as a dream by visionary citizens of Tampa who...
The Straz Center began as a dream by visionary citizens of Tampa who persevered to bring to reality one of the finest performing arts centers in the nation. It is many things to many people and it’s more than just a building, more than just a performing arts center. It is a presenter, a producer, an educator, a community partner and an economic engine for the Tampa Bay area. It is a cornerstone of the Tampa Bay community. The Straz Center creates a regional economic impact of more than $100 million each year. To our local economy it can mean more tourists staying in hotels, eating in restaurants, shopping in stores and visiting other venues when they are here. At both the local and national level, it provides access to more than 700,000 people of all ages, abilities and cultures each year. It also provides jobs for artists and other professionals who have a passion for the arts and for our mission.

Love the venue, shows selected annually and many lovely nights at the theatre. We have been and continue to be season ticket holders for over 15 years.

A wonderful place to see some great shows. It is easily accessible from I-275 and there is plenty of parking. The place is beautiful and well run. Not a single flaw we could find.

I attended the Rockettes show over the last Christmas holiday and had a wonderful time with great seats down front. My wife recently wanted to go and see Mama Mia and we ended up with seats in the upper back of the theater.

A group of ladies treated ourselves to a few laughs seeing a recent production of Menopause, the Musical. It was very well presented and the performers were very good. We laughed and rocked to the music that brought back memories of those good old days. Our seats in the Mezzanine were perfect and afforded us an unobstructed view of the... More

What a wonderful theatre. Great shows and really not a bad seat in the house. I prefer the Mezzanine level as its a nice height and Im not straining to see. Its the best bang for your buck.

This past weekend I attending a wedding hosted by the center. The straz center FAILED to show decent coordination. In fact, at the end of the reception dinner it was complete chaos when two things were occurring at the same time. The Bride & Groom leaving for their honeymoon and the crowd for Momma Mia was letting out. As for... More

Mamma Mia was a great way to forget our troubles for the night! The Straz was a beautiful venue with comfortable seats and top notch staff. Everyone was courteous and friendly and made for the perfect experience for the three Broadway first-timers. Great place and we will be back soon!

Last night was not the perfect night to wear my black velvet-bow in the front very high platform shoes. But they insisted to be taken to the Straz to watch “Mamma Mia!” despite the rain and the thunder. My accessories speak to me as if I was a Doctor Doolittle of a different kind… something like Doctor Do-occesories? Doctor DooFrills.... More

We were subscription clients for years attending 5 to 7 shows annually. The theater is terrific with excellent seating, nice public areas, very accessible entrances to theater, very helpful ushers and not a bad seat in the house. Now to the shows themselves---what a great line-up every year. Great mix of musical, comedy, drama etc. And these are always the... More
