Owner description: The Straz Center began as a dream by visionary citizens of Tampa who persevered to bring to reality one of the finest performing arts centers in the nation. It is many things to many people and it’s more than just a building, more than just a performing arts center. It is a presenter, a producer, an educator, a community partner and an economic engine for the Tampa Bay area. It is a cornerstone of the Tampa Bay community. The Straz Center creates a regional economic impact of more than $100 million each year. To our local economy it can mean more tourists staying in hotels, eating in restaurants, shopping in stores and visiting other venues when they are here. At both the local and national level, it provides access to more than 700,000 people of all ages, abilities and cultures each year. It also provides jobs for artists and other professionals who have a passion for the arts and for our mission.

Amazing production. The music, singers, performances, costumes and sets were amazing. The theater is stunning. We had a great time.

We spent New Years Eve at the Straz this year. Every year since we moved to the Bay Area we have been part off the Cloud Club, a subscription level at this theater that brings our community the best of Broadway shows and other entertainment. It's the perfect season ticket for us since our income is limited due to the... More

My husband and I went to Straz to see Phantom of the Opera for New Years Eve. Although I visit Tampa several times a year to see my family, but I had never been here. I was very pleasantly surprised. Thw theater was much larger than I thought from gaving driven by it, and is located right on the water.... More

If you've not yet purchased tickets for Phantom at the Straz, don't. If you already did - don't go - worth losing the money. This new, 'updated' version lacks the grandeur, darkness, and most of all raw power of the original. The viewer doesn't get the feel. It was my 6th time seeing it, and I'm sorry I went -... More

This was our first visit to the Straz and we were very impressed. Come about an hour or more before the show and enjoy the outside eating venues (there is also a coffee shop - smelled wonderful). We sat about 8 rows back and enjoyed our view. Nearby parking was very close and was only $5 (matinee price?)

This was a show we were excited to watch and we had good seats. Actually, with the size of auditorium we were in it is hard to imagine there being a bad seat in the house. The only bad thing was the people sitting around us. The two older teenage boys in front fell asleep and when awake were playing... More

Last night (New Years Eve) my wife and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera at the Straz Center. While the performance was very good, I'd have to give the edge to the Broadway version for the performance itself. Better sets, props, etc. This version did not seem quite as dark and powerful and had a slightly more... More

The venue is awesome as was the talent! Christine was crisp and clear and the sound system was at par!! WE were in the Box seats, on the second floor balcony , could not have asked for more. Plenty of room in the armed chairs! with a little table for drinks, NICE... The pyro and effects rocked this opera! I... More

This was another great performance at the Carol Morsani Hall. I'd previously seen Westside Story at this venue, but this was the first time I'd seen Phantom of the Opera in Tampa. I have to say that they did an awesome job of putting it all together on such a small stage. The performance was just as good as the... More
